The story behind the kitchen clock
The kitchen clock was there when we moved in. I thought it was kind of pretty so I just left it. I never even thought of setting the time. Romans are not slaves to the clock. When in Rome...

why is the clock 90 min fast? The view is beautiful. Wish I were younger. I would be traveling every chance I got.

Nice pics
Glad you both stuck it out for the flight over. Fred must have been running on fumes. No wonder he slept through the storm. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures. Looks beautiful.

I'm soooo jealous!!!!!!!
This was so much fun reading your blog -- good job Auntie Leenda!!! I laughed out loud (sorry) about you being left behind at the train station -- one of my biggest fears when David and I are in Italy -- we hold hands -- soooo hold Uncle Freddy's hand next time!!!!! Love the pics too. Oh and by the way, you had my FAVORITE meal -- Fettucine with Porcini!!! Yummo! Did you have vino de la casa -- golden yellow color --- perfect with the fettucine!~ Miss you!

Glad you enjoyed the blog
Uncle Freddie insists he nearly broke his arm trying to hold the door for me....ah well maybe he did....maybe he didn't???? It's hard to hold his hand when he's running way ahead of me with the only thing on his mind being making the train...he needs rear view mirrors! No sorry I didn't have the house wine....I didn't want to drink alone so passed. Will do that for lunch for sure! Miss you and wish you were here....we could get left behind on the train platform together...see how long it would take the men to miss us!!!

:)
please share some information with me. where did you stay? did any agent make your arrangements? travel route?
13th February 2011

Hey Des...wow I can't believe I've got someone from the UK following my blog. So glad you found it entertaining...that's my main goal. Wish we could physically bring all our family/friends with us on holiday but can't so blogging is the only option. Photos alone are boring and over-rated. Storing telling is a lost art that most of us enjoyed as children and I try to recreate. One of the best stories I had read to me as an adult was told by a travel guide in a small canyon off the Colorado river...all about hikers and dreams they had in the opening to that small canyon. So cool!!! Closed my eyes and there I was. Hope you get to Caye Caulker some day...people are the best and food is wonderful! Thanks for your message.

I have enjoyed reading your blog...your one funny lady! I would have liked to have been at a few of your 'panty ripper' sessions. Safe travels home.

Sharkey
He doesn't like heights either so chose to stay at the cabana and relax. We didn't get any reports from hotel management about him hosting a wild pool party while we were gone so I guess we can all return next year.

where's sharky
Hey, where's sharky? Was he in a time out? Beautiful pictures! Did Fred scream like a little girl going down the zip line, or was it a yahooooooo all the way down. Have a safe trip home. Love you, Donna

Din
Hey guys, Din spent the night in the clinic and then sent to the OR at middlesex for a hernia operation at 0430 hours via hunters. I brought mom home to get a couple hours sleep till she got the call that he was out of surgery. Mom got called at 0630 to say he was ready to come home. no surgery, they were able to push it back in. it's the hernia he had operated on 6 years ago that they put the mesh in. are you ready for this?! he was reaching for his remote in bed. he's doing better now, the morphine was a big help. just a heads up incase someone said something to you. no need to call.

Got through the last storm - very icy driveway - thank goodness its flat! Doggies really have cabin fever - can't really run around the yard because of ice-encrusted 2 feet of snow!!
