Go, Army! Best Navy! Thought that title would get K&S's attention. Keep your blogs coming; detailed commentary is great. spent a few days in Saigon in '64, '65, '68, '69; the Rex was a US BOQ and the rooftop place to linkup with fellow advisors and "young" buddies --- we were all young then. The war there still reverberates in one's soul, ever a presence in an unappreciative US society.
Westward Ho I like the fact that "mother nature always bats last." Nice prose. We're currently in Palm Beach on a charter for three days. Interesting how the Carnival Cruise Fiasco, played out. Wondering if that made news in the Southern Hemisphere . . 4500 adrift, four days with little electricity, and no working toilets. How would you handle that? Actually discovered that Joe Hintz was vacationed 20 minutes from Hotel, but was too tired to share a beer?? Sale Safe!
Komodo, Bali, and Singapore Boy, memories. Those dragons are agressive, to be sure.
Bali-how beautiful and then spotless Singapore. Memories, to be sure.
Thanks for all you do.
Dick
Oh yes-nice pictures, too. Susan's eye, I am sure.
Your pictures and descriptions We have been enjoying your notes and pictures for a very long time and so enjoy reading them. We have met on several cruises although you may not remember us.
Please remember us to Mario and Marianna - we love them. Ask the Capt. about peanut butter ice cream!!!
Safe travels. Hugs, Barbara and Richard
Hello Lovelies! So good to see your smiling faces and share in your travels. We miss you around these parts, but are maintaining your traditions with lots of dinner parties and long laughed filled nights. Look forward to enjoying more of the same with you this summer. In the meantime, happy travels and lots of love to you both.
What a lovely time on the docks we had in your company! Thanks for sharing the photos, it made us smile all over again. Mango sends toe licks and and finger chews.
Half through a back to back voyage I'm aboard the Azamara Quest. First segment was ten day Rio to Buenos Aires (spent 3 days in Rio before boarding) and this segment is 16 day round trip Buenos Aires - to Antarctic. Will be home Feb 1st. Love this ship, almost as much as Voyager and Mariner.
Happy New Year and smooth sailing.
Love, Mimi
Cruising on the Delta I can relate to your comment about being careful of the depth in the Delta and the tides. Many years ago on a family outing on a houseboat we tied up to a tree on the bank for the night, the tide went out, and we ended up high and dry and tilted. Had to wait for the tide to come back in to float us off. Learned our lesson.
Good adventure for you guys. I know it gets pretty hot in places even on the water.
Good to see you back! We were going through withdrawal without your frequent postings! Thank goodness you are back on the road (so to speak!) again. This loos like a very interesting change of pace for you -- and us -- and we look forward to following your adventures closer to home. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

MISSED YOU GUYS What a fun trip up to the delta. We love this area. Twice we have rented "Halcyon Days" for day trips on the delta. I was certainly happy to hear from you two. Last night my daughter Wendy and I were at the Giants game. Sadly they lost. But oh it was cold at ATT. At my home in Lincoln it has been in the high 90's and 100's so I just wasn't prepared to freeze. I should know better!
One of our good friends live at New Hope Landing on a house boat. He used to take it out often but now has gotten lazy and just stays docked.
Keep us updated on your journey through the delta.
Love you guys.

Delta memories thanks for the wonderful blog which brought back memories.Quite a few years ago we rented a large houseboat with 2 other couples over thanksgiving and had a super time even though most of the yachtclubs were closed,we bought our ice on an honor system at a small place called HELL and left the money in a bucket. It was good to hear from you again. G&M.
Thank you for your new Blog Dear Susan and Kevin,
First of all, we are happy to know that both of you are fine and are enjoying your summer vacation by dowdling on the Delta by MANA. We had not visited Benicia when we were in San Francisco but it looks nice to go by boat through San Pablo bay where I wanted to go by boat.
We enjoyed your photos on the above and felt some nostalgia of San Francisco and Sausalito.
We have just received a card from Kitty and Norm who are on the Alaska cruising by Regent. We are so glad that all of you look fine and enjoying your life.
In Japan, we have very hot summer this year but I enjoy sailing in the Sagami bay by AHOY.
Thanks again for your fantastic blog. Miyoko and Masa
