Wednesday, June 26 -Headed to downtown Denver to check it out. Started at the State Capital and went on our own tour, then headed over to The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, which was beautiful! We then grabbed lunch at a place called Jelly, which was really good. We ordered 8 donut holes as an appetizer - YUM! We then walked over to the Molly Brown House and took a tour, which was really cool. The girls really enjoyed that. Next we headed over to Larimer Square, an upscale area with stores, restaurants and clubs. We stopped in the Crepes & Crepes and of course, had to try one! We walked around and then headed back to where we parked our car. Had to stop of at Rocket Fizz, which carries any kind of candy ... read more

Chris and I went to crossfit and then we headed over to the RV storage place, picked up the RV and took it to a RV mechanic near Boulder. After we dropped it off, we found a mall nearby and let the girls shop at Justice and Old Navy. We then decided to hit up Casa Bonita for dinner, a famous, touristy restaurant near downtown Denver, located in a strip mall. When you walk in, it looks like you are entering an amusement ride. There are ropes that wind around the restaurant and lead you to a cashier. He takes your order (small menu). You then grab a tray and then go through a buffet-like line. They give you your dish of food and your drink. We were seated in front of the stage, but a ... read more

Having a great time here. It's a little warm 90-92 degrees (nothing like AZ who is suppose to have temps around 118 this weekend!). We decided to go mining today (or "menning, as Lexi says it). Headed out to Idaho Springs where the 1893 Argo Mine was built. We walked the little town first and found a really good restaurant called the Tommyknockers. We looked around a few shops then headed to the mines. The mine is no longer operational, but they bused us to one of the shaft, where we were able to walk down to the end and back. Then we walked around the old mill, which was pretty neat. It reminded Chris and I of Grandpa Coyne. After the tour, we were then able to pan for gold. The girls thought that was ... read more

Have had a awesome week here in Denver. We absolutely love it and are so glad we chose the Washington Park neighborhood. We've gone on several walks (sometimes 3x a day!) and bike rides to Washington Park. I love to walk the neighborhoods here with the dogs and look at the houses and landscape. The weather has been nice, 90's mid-day, but really nice in the mornings and in the afternoons. Wednesday, June 19 we had dinner in the Highlands neighborhood at a restaurant called Rosa Linda's. The owner, Oscar was super friendly and talked to us most of the time. Right across the street was a vintage furniture shop, where the girls spotted a home-made lemonade stand, that we had to go check out. It wasn't for sale, but the owner said the girls could ... read more

Dropped the kids off soccer camp and then Chris and I went and tried out a Crossfit gym - Crossfit Elevation. Really liked the gym, tough workout! Went and picked up the kids afterwards. We headed back to the house, got on our bikes and headed to Whole Foods @ Cherry Creek. The girls loved this place! We got lunch (Taylor and I Teriyaki bowls, Lexi pizza and Chris street tacos). Everything was delicious! Expensive, but delish! We sat outside on the patio, it was pretty cloudy out. We went back in and bought food for dinner, came back out and it was clear out! Weather does change every 5 minutes! Got back to the house, relaxed for a while and then took the dogs on a walk to Washington Park. The park is 7 short ... read more

Got up bright and early to take the girls to their first day of soccer camp at University of Denver, which is about a 5 minute drive away. They are at camp from 8:50 - 12:00. We stayed and watched the girls practice. While watching we also got to see construction crews bulldoze houses to make room for another soccer field, which was pretty cool to watch. We came back to the house, jumped on our bikes and headed down the street to 730 Bar & Grill (food was awesome!), then went across the street and got library cards so the girls could check out books and then across the street again to Bonnie Brae Ice Cream (delish!). This place usually has a line out the door and was told it was rated one of the ... read more

We got up around 7:30AM. Took the dogs to the dog run and then gave dad his father’s day gifts. A silver “Kroozie” for his bike and the “Game of Thrones” book series. We then packed up and headed out. We would have loved to have hiked the National Park, but we had a 7 hour drive ahead of us, so decided to keep moving on. The drive out of Moab was really pretty. The drive into Colorado was nice, especially when we came into the town of Edwards. From there on it was gorgeous!! That lead us into Vail. There were still patches of snow on the mountains and waterfalls flowing off the sides of the mountains. Stunning! We hit some hills and really slowed down, so Chris decided to have me drive the rest ... read more

We slept pretty good last night. We got up and showered and were ready to go around 10AM. The girls wanted to take a look at the small gift shop at the RV Park before we left. It was a 10x10 room with sand floors. The girls each got an Indian bracelet. We packed up and headed out. We stopped along the way to look at the canyons, they were pretty spectacular. In one of them, you could see Indian ruins. The last canyon we looked at had a few houses at the bottom and people riding horses. We next stopped at the Four Corners, which was about 30 miles out of our way, but worth it. The girls really wanted to see it. A bunch of bikers were there and offered to take our family ... read more

We are off and on our first RV road trip with the family and dogs! We are taking a road trip to Denver and staying there for six weeks! We packed everything up and headed out of Phoenix around 9:30AM. Everything was running smoothly in the RV until we got to the hills before Flagstaff. We lost power and had to pull over. After thirty minutes, we finally got the RV to start up again. We thought it had overheated. We decided to take the Ford Edge off the back of the tow dolly and have me drive it up the mountains. We made it up the mountain and pulled over off of Walnut Creek Road to put the car back on the tow dolly. Once we got everything loaded and were ready to go, the ... read more
