South America » Argentina October 11th 2009

Well, the pictures on this entry are from the brazilian side of the iguazu falls, but the text is right after we got back from dinner. We had spent a good 8 hours hiking the trails and exploring on iguazu falls had to offer on the argentina side We got back, took a good 2 hours nap after laying down for just a moment. We then went and got some money out, explored the town a little more and stopped for a few drinks and dinner. About 15 minutes up until our pizza arrived from the kitchen, the thunderstorm that was previously off in the distance that we were watch mad amounts of lightning and thunder from, made its way to us. Just drizzling for awhile, and then right as we were finishing, boom, the rain ... read more

South America » Brazil » São Paulo » São Paulo October 7th 2009

Here we are in the giagantic city of Sao Paulo, we did some exploring yesterday and had many reccommendation from our host Jean Pascal of where to go, and we got absolutely lost. We eventually managed to find our way back was good. It is a big, confusing, intimidating city, but we are getting ready to set off today and conquer yet another city in another country. We are planning to go to Igaussu falls on thursday night and spend the weekend there, which should be incredible, especially since Jean was telling us they have the worlds largest hydro-electric plant, we will take many pictures. We are going to see some authentic markets and areas of Sao Paulo today along with a reccommendation for a bar that has an amazing draft beer--should be exciting. Well we ... read more

South America » Chile October 4th 2009

Hello from pucon- So we are on our last leg of Pucon and taking a bus back to Santiago tonight, we will arrive there at 7am and then head to the airport shortly after. Pucon was amazing for the outdoor activities, as the pictures will show. We climbed a Volcano to snowboard down, Went to the natural volcano heated hot springs, and we rode horses up another mountain to watch the sunset on the lake and the city. It was all incredible. It was a very small town, but the amount of outdoor activities made the stay seem to short. We spent a good amount more money then we planned, but hey, we are living, so why not. We are excited for Brazil and we are thinking about looking into getting a very cheap flight from ... read more

South America October 2nd 2009

As we said in the last post, It was an idea that potentially we could do Technically we only have to be in Cusco by the 28th because of the permits for the inca trail, so in theory we could just make our way there through chile and bolivia. And Part of us really wants to do that because it would truly be letting go and getting to explore the way man was meant to explore. Alas, we realize we made previous plans and should stick to them, I guess its just a lesson learned for next time--less committment. But for now, we will stick to our plans, sorry for any confusion or worry, We just wanted to make sure you guys knew our thoughts as soon as posible. We will be flying to Sao Paulo ... read more

South America October 2nd 2009

So, we are currently in Pucon, which was about a 10 hour night bus south of Santiago. It is a nice small town, the whole town is pretty much one main street with a few off shoots with a couple shops here and there. Yesterday, we got up at 5am and climbed to the top of Volcano Villaricca and then snowboarded down, of course we forgot the camera, but we were with an israeli father and son, who made it about half way and took pictures for us, but ofcourse we forgot to get their e'mail, hopefully we will see them around town before we leave. After that in the night, we went to the hot springs heated by the volcano and it was extremely relaxing. While climbing the vast volcano, we got to thinking. Currently, ... read more

South America » Chile » Santiago Region » Santiago September 27th 2009

The camera is full, so we figured it was time to get some up here so we can add more! We are Santiago for probably one more night and then going to head to a smaller town about 10 hour bus ride south, Pucon, located in the mountains between a Volcano and a lake, suppose to be beautiful and lots of outdoor adventure. So far, Santiago is probably our favorite big city, but its still a city and we are eager to get to the smaller towns. We will stay up in the Pucon area probably until Sunday and take a bus back sunday day and stay at La Chimba one more night before we catch our plane to Sao Paulo the next day. We have absolutely 0 service in chile, we are going to try ... read more

South America » Peru » Lima » Lima » Miraflores September 22nd 2009

We have been traveling for about 2 weeks now, and deciding to do a blog, we will see how long this gets updated before, but for now we have the drive. We are at the Condor House in Miraflores which is highly reccommend. Its like being in the vibe of the 90´s again, which is definately a good thing. It´s like being with family and living life rather then just trying to survive. For the first couple weeks of our trip, we used disposable cameras and tore through 6 in the first couple weeks, I decided a quality digital camera was a neccessity. We got the reccommendation to go to Polvoz Azules which means ´Blue Dust´ Which is a huge, huge warehouse with probably hundreds of stores with everything from cameras, computers, tv´s, car audio, clothes, ... read more
