Yes, it's time for you to visit other countries!

I want to see Canada in the Fall too! Yes I've already booked my flights this year and it doesn't include Canada... yet

Can I Canada?
So your love affair with Canada continues, Harold. Exchanging Filipino white sand Christmases for Canadian white snow Christmases as a life choice? "Where there is a will there is a way", so the saying goes!

Can I Canada? -
I gladly would! The world is too big to just stay in one place. I'm giving it one more try but it's going to take longer because it will cost a lot more. I need to study there for at least two years! But I have yet to find a way to come up with funds to be able to do that

1st Time application
Hi! I work online as a telemarketer for an American company for over a year now and sometimes im a part time english teacher I don't work in a physical company. Will that lower down my chance of being approved?

1st Time application
Truth be told, yes I think it will affect your chances because that doesn't sound like a stable job. Good luck!

Yup it definitely was. Lots of cute stores, cafes, and restaurants. We enjoyed sitting in a park bench while eating ice cream. I can see myself hanging out there every Sunday morning if I lived in Santa Barbara

On the road again
Does this mean your leg is fully mended and you are exercising your travel itch in your usual uninhibited manner Harold? You are looking great. Kinda didn't realise you may not get the fruits of temperate climates in the Philippines. Enjoy the flavours and fragrances wherever you go.

On the road again
It's healed but it's not like it used to be for sure. Nothing crazy like a long hike yet but there's still lots to do. I jumped out of a plane and off a cliff into the water in this trip. Those were more than enough to whet the appetite of the adrenaline junkie in me. I guess because I purposely went in the summer so I can have the novelty of wearing shorts and slippers in North America that I was just a bit disappointed that it wasn't as warm as I would have liked.

Santa Barbara County
How great that you visited your deep, true friend Kat and my part of the world! You're so right about being able to speak those initial, hostel travelers' chats with everyone--congrats on doing it here! I'm from Santa Barbara, where the architecture is called Spanish Colonial Revival. We had a big earthquake in 1925, the town was destroyed and rebuilt as an Andalusian village, and it is so beautiful! It used be cold only in June mornings due to fog (June Gloom), but since climate change, it's also foggy more of the summer--so sorry; normally, August is frying! I think you must have been staying in our north county (maybe Santa Maria or Lompoc?) because in coastal SB, we don't have gated communities, gun shots, or military bases (Vandenberg). Glad you got to see grapes growing, taste fresh oj and eat fresh peaches! Our agriculture is fabulous. Happy travels!

Hearst Castle

Hearst Castle was really good
We visited Hearst Castle a few years ago and we liked it. However we went to another gigantic private home turned into a museum that we liked much better - Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. If you ever have the chance of going there don't hesitate to do that. Ake

Thanks for sharing the life of undocumented workers in the U.S...
I hope that the new administration finally resolves the immigration system and gives work permits, just like the Germans gave guest worker permits, to those with essential skills. My son in law owns a business and can't find enough qualified hard working Americans. He plans to hire immigrants.

Thanks for sharing the life of undocumented workers in the U.S...
You're most welcome. I fear for my friends there but being a non-American I don't feel it's right for me to give an opinion

Fantastic
What a spectacular building Harold. Fantastic!

Fantastic
It truly is! I've always wondered why it looks like the Guggenheim museum in Spain. I learned from the free tour that it was designed by the same architect

The American Dream
How on earth can they estimate 270,000 undocumented Filipino Immigrants in USA? Sobering thought when Donald Trump is shortly to be inaugurated as the next President of the USA and campaigned to deport illegals. What is the feeling in the Philippines about that potential?
22nd November 2016

The American Dream
I guess they count the number of expired tourist visas that's why they have an estimated number. We're only allowed to stay six months max. I haven't really heard or read about anyone being worried about Trump deporting undocumented immigrants back here. It's like the government doesn't care. There's already too much drama going on here with the former dictator getting buried secretly with 21 gun salute from the military and our very "colourful" president

I see. do you think sir a 20k monthly is acceptable? anyway my sister will cover the ticket mine is for pocket money and the savings that I have on the bank 100+ would that be ok? my schedule will be on 26
20th September 2016

salary
i really don't know. as I've said i know people who have been approved who made less than 20K. Although their reason was they were attending a conference and they applied as a group. There are other factors. I've read that it would be difficult for single people to get approved, especially if you have relatives in the States because that would make you more likely to stay there illegally. So you might have to show them more money if you have those risk factors
19th September 2016

salary
i know people who have been approved who make less money. the nurses I was telling you about. but there are other factors to consider. from what i've been reading it would be difficult to be approved if you are single. in your 20's to early 30's, and if you have relatives in the States. That's because those things make your more likely to stay in the States illegally to find work. just answer as honestly as possible. it would help also if you have good travel history

hi sir, did you tell the consul the specific amount of you're salary? how much do you think they accept monthly salary. I heard they wont allow tourist with minimum wager, it should be 100k. THanks!
19th September 2016

salary
yes i did because they asked. I don't know how much income is acceptable for them but I reckon it would be difficult to get approved if you are a minimum wage earner because traveling in the States is quite expensive. But I do know a few nurses who got approved and we all know that nurses in the Philippines earn very little
