Lockdown
We are self isolating for 2 weeks as we have just returned from Spain! I find I am quite busy here - The Body Work out with Joe Wickes - free exercise at 9.00am; a few phone calls, garden needs doing ) always something to do!!) Jigsaws, granddaughter does a whatsapp video call, virtual dinner parties with those still stuck in Spain! Stay safe! xxx

covid-19
I wouldnt go anywhere near a hospital at this moment!! Prob best that your liver test is cancelled? They cant get rid of you at work, they can offer redundancy and that's all I think! I would stay at home and deal with consequences later!! Stay safe what ever you do!! x

hey up me duck
Hey up me duck as they say up here Not that I say it - I just stick to being Welsh in an alien land . I dont drink enough for it to be my liver . It is my kiddleys as my mum used to call them. Yes you are right about work . I am very close to the union too so they never would dare take me being off too rigidly. I always said I wanted to take the last six months of work off sick . Might just happen. Your allotment sounds a good idea . We have some in the village but cant get Glenn interested in one. Bought some peas and green bean seeds this morning . Might get out into the garden today and do some digging . We are going to run out of things to do at this rate . You are right about hospitals . Once in you never get out . I guess they are not good down South Wales . If they are as bad as Betsi C up in the north then they will be awful . I dont think much about the Labour Senedd . Didnt like the last First Minister and find Drakeford a bit of a prat . I live in Labour heartland up here - ex mining with a population of sick time wasters on mobility scooters . You can tell I am in the wrong job trying to get them to work !!!! I find it fascinating that I have found so many like minded people on Travelblog . Started a long time ago when an American sent me a link to a couple in the West Mids who had a motorhome . Keep plannign to meet the American and our paths do almost cross sometimes . Still in contact with Jo from the West Mids although Ian her husband died very suddenly after we met . Its a nice community . xx

Covid - 19
Glad you are keeping well and keeping busy! We are enjoying the glorious weather in UK, and after being in a lockdown in Spain for a week in cloudy weather, this is heaven! We are pottering around the garden, clearing out the shed etc and then in the afternoon we take the footpath at the back of our bungalow and across the field to our allotment. Its not a bad life!.Stay safe and keep well! x

glad to see you got back
What a relief to get home . Sounds like you are in the best place at the moment . I think we will run out of jobs to do if we carry on at this rate. I am not back at work until next Wednesday . Supposed to be having a blood test to see what my kidney function is like but it looks like that will be cancelled as non urgent . I think I might be able to blag another few weeks off work while I wait for another test date . Work are not going to be happy with me but at 68 with dicky kidney function they may not be able to say much . Enjoying the sunshine too . xx

Plans...they are a'changing.
Linda is doing jigsaw puzzles and we are both reading. As for travel, we can still take rides in the country...just no human contact. And everyone here is hoarding toilet paper, too! And those of us who don't are asking WHY? Stay safe!

staying put
Keep safe too both of you . I am off work at the moment awaiting a blood test next Monday to see if my kidney function has gone back up again . Good excuse not to work this week and probably next . No swimming for me . I have taken to walking at 6.45 in the morning before the world and his dog wake up. Glenn is worried more about it than I am. He is convinced I will bring something home if I go back to work and is pestering me to resign. I dont want to at the moment . I suppose it is giving us time to sit and think a bit about life . EVerytime someone coughs we jump and sit waiting for Boris 0'clock when the PM goes on TV to tell us the latest restrictions . I am going to keep blogging if I can just to keep sane . Woolly Mammoth and Jo are in Turkey . We were planning to meet up with them before all this kicked off . They flew out to Turkey about a week ago and then Turkey cancelled all flights back so they are marooned out there . Life goes on and we will get through it all .

Lockdown in Spain since last Saturday! Things moved very quickly here as we arrived on the 10th, led a walk on the 11th and Spain was shut down by 13th!! We have had two flights cancelled but hoping to get an early morning Vueling flight tomorrow 6.35am. Haven't heard that its been cancelled yet! Worrying times for all of us. Stay safe and keep in touch! xx

Spain
Safe travels to both of you. Feel very envious - I am off for a week in a couple of weeks . Cant wait . Going south - to Winchester and Salisbury . Glenn full of a cold at the moment and he has a sore throat . Nothing more than a cold . . No toilet rolls in the shops, Its mad up here . I am back at work tomorrow so that will be interesting as I deal with the great unwashed . Had you booked the Japan cruise ? A lady I swim with (we rarely share names :)) went to Singapore a few weeks ago for a cruise and was sent back home . Cruise didnt happen . Rebooked for end of the year . I think there is some kind of mad panic going on . Everyone who seems to be really ill are old and have some health issue. Glenns nephew just rang him from London to find out if he was OK as he considered Glenn to be old !!!! He is 73. He should be more concerned for his mum who has respiratory problems and his dad who had stem cell therapy a few years ago. They are at risk . We are Ok I hope . Have a lovely time . I am sure you will

Travels
Oh no. Hospital sounds awful and such a worrying time for you. I know what it's like:-( Never mind - at least you have a holiday to look forward to.in May. Brexit may effect us as we will only be able to visit countries in the Shenghen Agreement ( most of Europe!) 90 days out of 180 on a rolling basis. We shall see! May have to go somewhere else for a month!!! We are off on day trip to Valparaisa today. Take care. X

Must read your blog . Would love to do that . Wouldnt get other half on a cruise though. Been a funny two months . Was referred to the hospital for a cystoscopy - infections and blood in urine - Was seen in 10 days ruled out bladder cancer then had to go a week later for ultrasound on bladder and kidneys to rule out kidney cancer and stones . Got the all clear but they are none the wiser why I am getting infections and bleeding . Ah well back to the drawing board . Got a holiday coming up end of this month not sure where we will go . Its another bloody birthday tomorrow how have I got to 68 I wonder !!!!!!! How is Brexit going to affect you in Spain next year ? We are looking forward to getting away for a month in May . CAnt wait . I cant tell you how fed up we both feel at the moment . xx

What a perfect spot to celebrate Christmas!
And the weather turned for the best. So where will you go next Christmas...always planning your next trip before you have finished this trip. Sounds like me!

next year
It must be in our genes Bob this old travelling thing. I wouldn't have missed this trip for the world . It was really amazing especially with it being an anniversary of the D Day landings . Plans definitely Holland Germany Denmark and Poland in the Spring , Possibly overland to Greece in September - Romania and Bulgaria possibly . Christmas if I am working will be more difficult . I managed this year because Christmas , Boxing Day and New Years Day fell on my working days so I got almost 3 weeks off work . Next Christmas with the Leap Year might not be so easy . If we manage it maybe head west to Alsace - on the way a lot of WW1 history . The Lithium battery has been wonderful finally . We are off to Coventry in two weeks so that will be interesting . Never been before so want to see the cathedral . Will be poignant as we are planning Dresden in on the May holiday
