Well the Jennisons are on our way to Khao Lak and today travelled from Brisbane to Bangkok via Thai Airlines. The flight was actually fantastic! After traveling with Air Asia last year we now understand the benefits of paying more for a full service flight... Especially with kids. All three boys were entertained with the inflight systems so Scott and I managed to watch movies ourselves. How fantastic is that! The 9 hour flight was over so fast. This was probably helped by the fact that there were a lot of spare seats, so we could all spread out stretch our legs easily when needed. This trip we are lucky to have my Mum and Dad with us!! The boys thought it was a novelty having them on the plane and I noticed every time poor ... read more

Well we have arrived safely at our final travel destination ... Bangkok. Oh it is such a wild, noisy, colourful, crazy city! The boys are certainly alert most of the time when we go out of the hotel. As a result ... we have not done a lot here so far. We only arrived yesterday afternoon and after checking in to our room at the Aetas Bangkok Hotel (thankfully we have interconnecting rooms - which was not confirmed until check in) we decided to hitch a taxi ride to the tallest building in Thailand - Baiyoke Sky Tower. We then went up a lift to about 320m above ground level (floor number 82) to a rotating view deck to see Bangkok from a bird's eye view. It was pretty amazing being that high ... the boys ... read more

Today we had a slower start, thank goodness, and enjoyed a lazy breakfast in the villa gardens which was great. They have this amazing home cooked cinnamon french toast with grilled banana .. it is to die for! It has also been my standard order since arrival! Dylan and Scott have enjoyed the Pancakes ... which are also fantastic, but I have converted Dylan to the french toast after he tried mine yesterday! Anyway, we told our taxi man (same one from Saturday) that we wanted him again today ... but planeed to call him when we were ready to be picked up. BUT when we had finished breakfast he was here waiting for us already! KEEN! So we quickly got organised and left soon after ... headed for the famous Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep (translation ... read more

Oh my oh my ... what an experience we had at the Patara Elephant Farm in Chiang Mai. Let me share a bit about it! I had read a lot about the elephants in Thailand before our holiday and I found out many of the elephants here today are used for tourism and not treated very well. I didn't want to take the boys somewhere to see elephants painting pictures or walking on their back legs ... this is not what elephants should be doing. Also, if we were going to ride elephants ... I wanted the boys to experience it the "proper way." That's what led us to Patara today. Anyway we had a very early start and made our way into the mountains south west of Chiang Mai. We soon met our elephants ... ... read more

Hi Again ... well it has been an adventure filled 24 hours. It is hard to beliive we have only been here a day ... let me share with you what we have been up to. Leaving Koh Samui was hard ... we felt like "locals" at the Infinity Resort towards the end of our stay as we seemed to outstay everyone else. Most people we met there were only staying for 5 nights ... so our 8 nights made us part of the furniture :) We enjoyed our transfer in air conditioning from the hotel before enduring a very hot wait lining up to check our luggage through at Koh Samui airport. You see ... it is an "open air" airport ... the first of this type I have been to! Thankfully we were travelling ... read more

Well today marks the day we have to pack our bags and leave Koh Samui. We just can't believe our 8 nights have passed by so fast. THANKFULLY ... we are not yet heading home ... just relocating to another place full of new adventures. But before I go into Chiang Mai, our next destination, let me update you with the last couple of days. Yesterday we enjoyed our breakfast watching the view yet again then Scott and the boys spent a quiet hour in the room swimming and relaxing whilst I snuck off to the day spa here at the resort ... book in hand ... to enjoy an indulgent 1 hour thai foot massage. Ooooh yeah ... it was delightful!!!! I relaxed in a comfy chair (in the air conditioning) reading my book, and ... read more

Hi All ... its us again :) I think we have adjusted to local time as we all slept in today and finally we had others at breakfast with us!!! Most days so far we have been the first to arrive at breakfast ... which of course has its advantages when Scott and I can get our coffee made as soon as we order and enjoy the service of 5-6 staff for our family of 5!!! Thailand is 3 hours behind Brisbane so we have moved into local time. Also, the mornings are so slow for everything over here and nothing really gets going until after lunch time ... so I'm glad we have adjusted a little. We have been caught out arriving too early for things a couple of times so far! This morning it ... read more

Well first of all I have to say thanks so much for the lovely comments you have made ... it is great to know that people are actually reading this blog and enjoying hearing about our travels! Sorry I have not replied ... just been SOOOOO busy doing SOOOOO much and yet still SOOOOO relaxed! Also sorry for all the typos ... there is no spell check and lets face it ... I'm on holidays! I can hardly remember what the last blog update was ... but I think it was our quiet morning in the unit enjoying the place and the view! We used our inifinity pool and read books ... the boys played hide and seek (there are just so many places to hide here!) and we headed off after lunch on another adventure! ... read more

Sadly we have now had 4 sleeps at this amazing place in Koh Samui ... which means there are only another 4 left before we continue on our Thailand adventure. Since my last post we have been doing lots of relaxing ... let me share a bit of that with you now ... On Saturday afternoon we headed down to the north coast of Koh Samui to Mae Nam beach again ... we have found this to be our favourtie area so far on this trip. We had read about a little local bar that was worth a visit so we set out to find it. Thankfully with our car we can take lots of wrong turns and eventually find our way. The boys just don't understand why we keep getting lost! It is funny how ... read more

Well we are starting to feel like we are finding our way a little in this new area that we have never been to before. Hiring a car has given us great freedom to explore and find things that are off the main roads and not otherwise easily accessible. Yesterday afternoon we set off on our first real adventure and the boys got to see a couple of Thai Temples that are well known on Koh Samui. A couple of photos are attached. They were quite interested surprisingly ... especially at the Golden Budda where they were blessed with holy water that was sprinkled over them by a Monk. Blake is still talking about it today and he wants to "go and visit the Monk again." Funny! We found a pancake cart and wanted to try ... read more
