Personal responsibility -v- reckless indifference We are half a World apart Frank...you in Colombia me in Australia but this pandemic has us all contemplating so similarly. I share so many of your thoughts. Do we follow safeguards or do we exercise reckless indifference for the health of ourselves and others? I am a firm believer that we must do all we can not to be the One...the One who infects another or is infected by others...I do not want to be the One. We are fortunate in Australia that most agree and our infection and death rates are remarkably low. Our infection clusters have been usually from one infected person who has not followed safeguards. While the health of our nation has been a priority our economy is smashed. Therefore whether we like it or not we need to continue with self responsibility or the virus will win. I share and am encouraged by your words "This will pass for sure, therefore, let's take a moment to be thankful for having the chance to challenge ourselves to find new skills and become better human beings." Thank you for your excellent reflections Frank. We may be half a World apart but we TBers share the same thoughts and considerations. It is how we respond to the virus that determines our future. My mantra that I do not want to be the One is serving me just fine. Keep smiling, strong and well in confidence no matter how far or how long this lasts we will emerge to be OK. I raise my glass to you in the ether and wish your family and you continue to be upbeat and well.
Personal responsibility -v- reckless indifference WOw, thanks, Dave, I am touched by your wise reassuring words. Glad that Australia has not experienced the same fatality rates as others and that you continue being so responsible prioritising health over other things. I hesitated to write this entry as it was only about a travel inside myself during this pandemic, but thanks to Travelblog for lending us this space to self reflect on all this. It is like talking to good friends as one lets off some steam in the process, glad to belong to this travelblog club. Please, take care of yourself so that you can enlighten us with more trips and stories. My family says hello, big hug!!

Festivals! When we make it over to Colombia, we'll have to make sure we time it during some festivals - they look so vibrant and fun! I wasn't expecting a celebration of elves though :)
Festivals! Yeah, it is like the pink dolphins in the Amazon, not very common; there are also festivals taking place during the whole year, you should see the Salsa F. In December in Cali, but you must be ready to join in, that’s fun. Thanks for your comment
And a very Merry Christmas to you..... Blogging with some lovely French music in the background and a bottle of wine is definitely the way to go. People may be spending money at the holidays but we have many friends giving to charities and doing things that don't cost money. So much kindness in the world. Enjoyed your blog.
And a very Christmas to you... What a nice comment, thanks. Yes, Christmas is a time to celebrate, give and be happy, I know for sure that you enjoy these festivities a lot. Big hugs and the best wishes for next year. Frank

Hi all!
Well, after so many seconds, minutes, hours, months and years of procrastination...-but highly encouraged by a most beloved friend-, I have finally got round to creating my own blog. Wow, I can't believe I'm actually doing it this time! It will be a nice opportunity to get in touch with so many friends that I've luckily gained in my entire '21' years' existence (we all know that's a lie but somehow it makes me feel younger, never you mind, sorry:); I'll be able to share some of the most precious memories of my travel as well as my day-to-day adventures. Let's just hope that my s... full info
