Stuffing My Suitcase
Long ago, I threw away a bunch of clothes and transferred all of our clothes to one suitcase. I filled the 2nd suitcase and a duffle bag with things that I had bought. I am either going to have to buy another suitcase or stop purchasing merchandise. You cannot imagine how heavy our bags are. Lucky for me, they roll. I am still saying a prayer everyday for Bobby. I will be glad when he gets home from Iraq. I can't imagine how much you must worry about him.

Sri Lanka
The countryside is suppose to be beautiful. Leopards and elephants still roam in the jungle areas. It is just not safe to travel in some of those areas at the current time. I was unable to take many pictures while I was in Sri Lanka for 2 reasons. The police will not allow photos in many areas. Second, my camera batteries went dead and my Asian charger would not work with their plugs/or adaptors.

A shame
Wow, what a shame. A friend of mine was telling me how beautiful and wonderful it was when they went many years ago.

Bangkok
We, too, were impressed with the respect that people have for their King and Queen. Glad you are enjoying one of our favorite cities, as well. Siem Reap will be quite an adventure. Enjoy!

Everette, I'm so glad that I'm on your blog list as I'll never see all of these places and you're doing such a great job of describing your experiences that I feel like I'm there. What a fun time for you and Walt. Don't hold back; buy, buy, buy all of the stuff you can get into a suitcase. This is your chance.

About terrorism
I have red you r blog. I am Sri Lankan. Actually long time we are facing this problem. No one couldn’t settle this. Several SL governments tried to finish this problem. But LTTL carders are not giving any chance to do it. We will finish this situation soon. Don’t worry. After that comes again to visit my poor country.

Miles and miles in a few blogs
Hello! I have missed checking your blog for a few days and it has been fun catching up this morning. It is amazing to hear the differences and miles and miles between journal entries. I completely related to your description when leaving the airport in Delhi. When we landed there many years ago I thought I was going to have a heart attack knowing that we were in India for 3 weeks, but when we got outside the big cities and traveled around I really changed my opinion. Take care! Annette

Wild Boar
R, We tried wild boar in Nepal along with dried venison. Both were very tasty. I have had several good fish dishes but have been unsure what kind of fish I was eating. Often the name is in another language. I have liked many of the Asian dishes but did not care for the Indian food. It was very strong in flavor. I don't particularly care for vegetables for breakfast. They always serve soggy bacon or chicken sausage which looks like vienna sausage. The breads have been great in every country. I am glad that you had a good trip to France. E

Food Choices
E, I know what you mean! The first night we were in France, the group met for dinner at a very nice restaurant in Cannes where we were served a beautiful fresh green salad followed by a meat that looked like chicken. We asked what it was but were told it was SOMETHING LIKE CHICKEN. We were never told exactly what it was but think it was pheasant, very tasty but some would not try it.I also saw rabbit on many menus and the whole thing dead in the market in Avignon. Boar is big there too. When in Rome, do as the Romans do is my theory. I would try ALMOST everything. Robin

Everette, I know that you and Walt are having a ball! The pictures are great. You will have so much to share with your grandchildren. Not very many people would be able to experience all of this. I hope that you continue to have a wonderful trip! Love you, Charlene

Walt, Sorry I didn't warn you about the shopping in HK; you're probably going to need your FedEx account to ship all the jade (and other items) back. Glad you two are having a great time. Mike

Hi, there!
What great expereiences you are having. That is one place we did not get to but we met some trekkers in Australia, one an Israeli soldier who had taken a year off to do some of these things. They had all trekked in Nepal and said what an experiece it was. The view from the plane must have been incredible! Be safe!

WOW-the Taj Mahal
What a great experience to be able to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World! It was the highlight of our India trip. However, after 10 days in the country, we came to the same conclusion you did almost immediately. Although we would never go back, we had some of our most memorable experiences in India. Be safe!

Bali
I bought Adam and LISA t-shirts in Bali. I don't have a lot of room in my suitcase at this time. Toward the end of the trip, we are going to pack a bag of souvenirs. That will probably while we are in Thailand and later Hong Kong. WE each only have one small suitcase and they are very heavy. Thanks for writing. I enjoy hearing from you. I don't always have enough time to respond. Bali is very inexpensive. It is the cost of the flight over that gets your attention. E

I'm from Taiwan!
Guess what? My friend, Judy Freeney, showed me your blog and it's unbelievable that the area you walked through happened to be the area that my uncle and aunt's restaurant is. I wonder if you actually went to that one.. Just kidding. Anyway, nice to know that you enjoy the long walk. Judy said she'll blog you later now. She's living vicariously through you. Enjoy your trip and hopfully I"ll get to talk to you in the future.

Rupees
Hi! I remember when we were in India the rupee was really confusing for US dollar conversion, but really easy for the Belgian Franc (I was living in BE at the time). Unfortunately, I was still getting used to the Franc, so I was totally confused much to the delight of several street vendors! I can't wait until you can get to a link that will let you upload some pics! Take care!
