Everette's Guestbook

hi
Sandy, We have been to Croatia. We did many Eastern European countries on that trip - starting in Albania. If you go to Croatia, try to go to Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegonvinia, and Slovenia at the same time. It is safe to rent a car in those countries. Enjoy your trip! Croatia's coast is beautiful! Rainy Georgia
I must have missed your first blog and since I have been so out of the loop this summer, I did not realize you were doing your Russia trip now. With all the rain here and in Georgia, USA, when I saw the "Rainy Georgia", I wondered why in the world you were writing a blog about the rain in GA. I always love your commentary and learn so much--even if it's somewhere we have been. Pictures are great. Keep it coming... Charlotte

great description
I feel like I've been there! Great description. Thanks! We are traveling (by car) out west. We went north to Minneapolis, then on to Winnipeg, Canada, then to Calgary. We then started south along the coast to Seattle, San Fransisco, going as far south as San Simeon and the Hearst Castle. We then went to Lake Tahoe and are now in St. George Utah. We saw the North rim of the Grand Canyon today. We visit Las Vegas tomorrow then on to Salt Lake City, Yellowstone and Home. Having a great time, but really enjoyed your blog. Take care. Nancy

Loved the pixs and commentary. Recognized the top you had on. What is the weather like? Look forward to more news from you. Of course Alabama won and so did Auburn, runaway scores. The hard games start this week. I leave for the wedding in Ark. on Thursday. Be back on Sunday. Be safe and stay in touch. R

Everette, I am enjoying this blog
Georgia seems like a very noteworthy place to visit. I bet the history is fascinating. There was a really good student in one of my classes from Tiblisi. Well, I am thinking about you and Walt. Have fun!

mistake
The 5th picture of one of Tibilisi. I actually still can tell what the 6th picture is. It is almost completely black on this computer. Sorry.

Children in Guatemala
I knew that before I went there. In one case, I asked a mother if I could take a photo of her daughter. She was excited and wanted me to do so. The grandfather was very displeased and scowled at me. I showed the photo to the mom and then took one of the family. She loved getting to see the pictures. They have had riots in Guatemala where 500 people have gone after Americans were trying to kidnap local children. In one case, two men were fishing and just trying to be friendly with some children on the bank. We kept our distance from children and did not encourage them to hang around us.

Breakfast sounds good..
Everette, It sounds like you are finally in a more relaxing spot. A friend of mine from school has a sister who is a nun living in Guatemala, and she said that often locals in Guatemala think that Americans come down to take their children. You and Walt are beyond brave!

Costa Rica
My Ark. cousins go every year to CR and love it there. It is a well kept secret they say. Missing you and hope to see you soon. My grandson was the cutest Easter baby at church! Big crowd and lots of special music.
