I think if I tell you my experience, probably it will make you feel better. I got seven bikes stolen just in roughly 2 months. Although those bikes are pretty cheap, the emotional shock was pretty huge. After that, either I walked or took bus. Think it positively, 20 mins walking is no big deal. It's good exercise.

The previous gas vent looked mighty scary! No wonder you wouldn't use the gas hot plate in the kitchen. You would have gotten blown back to the US! Don't know if you have heard, but we have Extreme home makeover with Ty Pennington just up the road from us on US 20. It is probably 6 miles from our house. They started today and will finish an entire house in 5 days. Maybe Ty could give the Chinese some pointers on efficiency!
