Global Connect We travelled through Uzbekistan with them in October 2019 and they tailored an amazing trip for us with my input on hostels & hotels & free days etc. With that and the thoughtful, knowledgeable and entertaining guides, we also cannot recommend , namely Global Connect, more highly. We also liked that they were a local Uzbek company, rather than a corporate Western that used locals as sub-contractors.
Uzbek Rugs You didn't buy any!!! Why not??? We bought three silk rugs as they were so exquisite, one in Khiva and two in Bukhara...safely posted and safely arrived in Oz where they have pride of place among my Persians. The prices were reasonable and the quality making me want many more.
Rugs and Mosques everywhere Hi Ed and Michelle: More amazing places to check out again and it looks like you are having fun. My next trip will be AZ. Keep on trekking and trucking. Grant
Botswana We missed Botswana on our Kenya to South Africa safari some years ago as our cook stole my passport and we had to leave the trip, so a delight to see blogs of what we missed. Great pic of a hippo that I will post in "Animals with character" thread in the Photography Forum. Check it out.
Lions I will see Ed and Michelle: Looks good as usual on your latest adventure. I am on the road in VA after another fabulous Merle Fest. Always a great vibe there and even with record mud my small group had a great time. Now visiting some friends and hope to see Matt Davenport on his farm. I won't go to D.C but if I decided last minute it would be for a day. Then I head to Asheville N.C to see a few friends, return to Louisville and then back to Illinois before plotting my next trip. VA weather sucks also with cool temps and high winds not very spring like here but what can one do. I filled a few sandbags before I left Savanna where it is flooding now. Stay safe and have fun. Grant
Gorgeous The animal pictures are amazing! I loved the pics of the lions and cubs. The two laying together and the one cleaning the ear of the other reminded me of Zoe and Zellie. Thank you for sharing your travels. Xoxoxo
Thank you for sharing I always enjoy hearing about your adventures and seeing the wonderful photos! Loved the photos of the animals - especially the monkey! Thanks for sharing!
Follow that road Gorgeous every footstep of the way. I have posted this in TB's "Follow that road" thread in the Photography Forum. Great addition. Check 'em out.
It was a beautiful morning And it was a stunning scene to behold. We have avoided Egypt and I cannot complain because everywhere we have been has been spectacular. Yet your pics are full of 'Wow" and we love 'wow'! I also love ancient things...and you would know...Egypt has ancient that looks hard to beat. We may need a poke and a prod but tempting is tempting.
Whose your Mummy? Hi Ed and Michelle: Not much to say except nice photos and sounds like a great guide. I think traveling like you are doing is smart as Covid could return and as the election nears it might not be good for most decent human beings but we shall see.
Spain The history of Spain is amazing and the Moors were more humane that the Christians. The buildings, the architectural history in front of us is amazing and stronger than France.
Spain is a colorful country Great photos as usual. On my eastern U.S.A trip and at Josh's condo. Saw Headings today at Union Station and the three of us will go see Matt Davenport and family Sunday. Then off to VA and later Merle Fest in N.C. Stay safe and have fun. Grant
Lovely colors You guys continue to amaze me how much you hit the road. I looked up Intrepid tours and they sound like an interesting group to consider doing a trip with. Enjoy those oranges. Grant
You guys are great Great pictures, thanks for sharing your tour with us. We have never been to Portugal or Spain so it looks lovely. How many miles did you go? We are planning on Spain next year. Hope to catch up with you next summer to hear about your adventures. Take care.
Feet don't fail me now Hi Ed and Michelle: Great photos again. Will consult with you sometime down the road. Back from Hawaii. Had a great time and understand the appeal. Truly a spectacular island and loved the trees, flowers and shrubs. I did one great hike at Volcano National Park and saw the lava flow which was fabulous. Grant
Wow! Thank you for sharing this amazing journey. I can’t wait to see the pictures. These may be the ones doe the LQ walls. Take care and stay safe. Xoxoxo
