Rockin in the Southwest Good stuff as usual. Glad you are getting out and seeing some of Utah and Colorado. I once interviewed for a job at City of Rocks which has duel management. Didn't get it as the guy thought I was too seasonal in my work at that time. I should check it out. Have fun and stay safe. Same goes at Shenandoah which has had too many people and too many incidents and even some deaths at places I used to supervise from careless hikers. Have fun. Grant
Extraordinary I have posted some more of the pics of your incredible trek in TB's "Majestic Mountains" thread in the Photography Forum. Definitely worth a look! This pic is truly extraordinary.
Christmas Day on the trail in Sikkim What a fabulous adventure. I can really feel the buzz you must have felt...a Christmas Day to always remember...the location, the locals, dzos, other trekkers, challenges and ease of the trail, huts for security, companionship & solace, vistas and weather to blow any cobwebs away. Looking forward to the next instalment.
Loved the different versions! Both versions sound painful yet unbelievable awesome!. Thanks for sharing your experiences and getting me out of quarantine.
Up Up Up I believe I had seen this blog before so enjoyed seeing it again. Quite an accomplishment and as we know now the glacier at Kili will soon be gone. Keep on truckin and trekking when the opportunity arises again. GW
Gotta love those insects You keep covering the ground seeing places few people do. What an amazing evolutionary event those lengthy stick insects. I suspect you have other ideas on the horizon. Keep on trucking and be safe. Grant
Monkeying around Love those photos of the monkeys and owls. Where to next? Maybe next year is when I do some international travel. Have fun and be safe. Grant
Food and color Hi Again: Those folks know how to party from the photos and descriptions. You probably needed to fast a few days afterwards with all the food. Now you can say you saw the real Monsoon Wedding as you were there. Keep on trucking and have fun. Grant
India on the fly Hi Ed and Michelle: Maybe you should work for Rick Steves since you are on the road so much. Have you ever called into his show which I enjoyed listening to him and his son is also a guide book writer. I sound redundant but you pulled it off again. I could never possibly keep up. I am waiting the final allocated amounts for part of my pension. I can hold off on social security so will for a bit as have the money to do that. I can't say I am enjoying Illinois that much but glad I can help my dad out and enjoy his company when he is not grouchy. The guy is tougher then nails with all his health woes and keeps on going like a Timex watch. Highlights for me are the birding here and when the weather is good I ride my bike. We haven't had enough snow yet and I did shovel for one business for free coffee and one business owes me a lunch. I am going to Louisville to see my friends in late December and a concert and have a concert in line in January in Dubuque. I have a tiny apartment that works well despite the neglect on the owners part. As always nice photos and interesting commentary on your part. Happy travels and say hi to your sister and Doug who I remember from AZ. Grant
