Thank you
Thank you for a most entertaining blog - I could have almost been with you on your journey. So sorry for you that it has come to an end, but I do hope that you have enjoyed the experience. What a lot of memories you must have of all the places you have visited. My days just won't be the same! Look forward to seeing you soon.

It has been a real pleasure to hear about your cruise, thank you so much for sharing it with us. I will really miss reading about your antics and taking in the scenery via your photos. Well done, - have thought about publishing it and perhaps selling at the canal shops? At the moment today is still glorious here despite the forecast, I hope it is the same there for you on this significant day. Will be thinking of you. All the best - Sarah.

I will miss your blogs
Hi I have been following your blog even since Salli Ransome gave me the link in July. We had a narrow boat for many years and we have visited most of the places you have seen. We used to moor at Wolverhampton Boat Club on the Shroppie. You passed it but did not stop preferring Brewood instead. Good luck with your next venture and I hope your boat sells quickly as if not you may be off again. Congratulations on all your wonderful photos

You're very kind - pleased you enjoyed it so much.

time
Helen and John: You may or may not wish to publish this - you have now done the equivalent of a maximum sentence (mags) with 1/3 off for guilty plea - 120 days. Hardly a punishment! Hope you continue to enjoy the rest of your time before being back to land.....Although there isn't as much movement on Dunlin as there would be if she were on'Thames, I am sure you (and Hattie) will miss what little there is. It may even take you a while to get your land feet again. All the best for this week! Sarah George and Sarah

Magistrate sentencing....
.... I'd like to put on record that I admit nothing!

kingfishers
How lovely - they are superb: we saw three once at the yacht club - flew right past our noses as you say, preceeded by some unmistakebale twittering. It was dusk and we were going down to our yacht by way of the pontoon attached to the club ship. They were like flashes of light. Lucky you. Stay dry - Sarah

Kingfishers...
... we didn't hear them twittering but perhaps the engine was too loud. They are magical though. My friend Toni (my age) saw her first kingfisher ever this summer - she was walking along a towpath!

Happy Anniversary
Dear Helen and John I think I wished you Happy Anniversary a couple of weeks ago - prematurely it now seems. Long time, isn't it, 40 years, you deserved that liqueur coffee!! Love Salli & Paul

Anniversary....
Yes, it's confusing as our weekend with the family was the anniversary celebration, fitted in when all could attend. Thank you for your good wishes - I bet you had more than a liqueur coffee on your 40th?

Boatnames
Sally reminds me of when my dad took a photo of my sister and I dressed as cowboys (we were children it's ok) - he called us Foots McCray and Avery Lill! S

I didn't know about volunteers and wondered what you meant the other day (I may have missed an explanation whilst I was away since I've not read those entries yet - sorry I know I am slacking). It sounds like a good idea but fancy being that instrusive?! Wonderful picture of the sunset today. Sarah

sploosh
Aw, no photos. I did same a few years ago - couoldnt believe it, all my sister was worried about was whether or not her bag, which I was carrying at the time, was wet. It survived and so did the electronic car key! Lady watching says it was just as well that I was wearing wellies....Sounds like a good weekend with friends and birthday cake.....S

Sploosh?
Just a moment's inattention provided a considerable amount of hilarity, as I'm sure your escapade did too!

Crayfish?
Can be eaten but probably not those from the canal. A couple of years ago we saw a family fishing for these in a clean Oxfordshire stream - string, bulldog clip and a bit of meat - they caught a bucketful.

crayfish
I heard about these when we were visiting the Llangollen canal lasst year, but thankfully didnt see one! Are they edible? That'd get rid of them.....S

Hope you had a super birthday weekend!
Helen, happy birthday month, seems like you had your hands full with the family, what lovely pictures especially like the group photo. Just back from Pevensey, had a super time with the Jans, lots of fun and laughter to be had plus the odd G&T! Jan will fill you in with more news I am sure. Love to all, Miss July ;) x
