Chester Chester is lovely, I hope you enjoy it. In the park on the Dee there is a statue of the Marquis of Westmonster with words carved by my great great grandfather, master stonemason. The canal we have seen, too. Exciting that you are planning you trip as you go.
Sunny Here Too! Hello Helen, John and Hattie,
Thank you for the update, and the interesting pictures. What a lovely day for messing around in boats! Hattie must love it jumping in and out of the water whenever she feels like it :)
Love to you all,
bye for now

chester canal This county is that of my ancestors....includes a sad story about the Chester canal. And there were many from Wales that came to these parts, so the signs are allowed! Looking forward to tomorrow's travel observations and historical interest.
hot day It's the same here and again today. Don't get too hot - and at least the weather was on your side when you forgot the towel! I'm really enjoying your pictures and tales, thank you. S
Interesting updates thanks! Have enjoyed catching up with all your news. Is that Peter the computer wizard you visited? I bet you were pleased to enjoy some modcons but the adventure still looks exciting. We have sold the big motorhome having had a disastrous few days in Tewkesbury when it hammered down with rain and I had decided that this wasn't any fun anymore. It was the right decision as we just weren't using it enough. You are doing exactly the right thing with your extended voyage - enjoy! Luv J & J xx
cutting Your pictures show so well the mammoth task of the cutting - and the bridge and area is so neat and picturesque. Like the "tent" at the bow of Dunlin shown on the Tyrley lock picture. Enjoy your day. sarah
Quiz Night Helen, you were missed last night however Jan did a grand job filling in the answers and keeping us all in order. Needless to say we were joint first again, and Richard had to go head-to-head against a team of girls, the question was guess the quiz mistresse's year of birth, Richard got the nearest and we won! Winnings donated to 'Help for Heros'. The Kingswooders aim next time round is to win outright......we will need you back for that one :)
Have a lovely day, bye for now
Amanda
Quiz... Well done everyone! That's good to hear however the question that springs to mind is:- did Richard guess the true year of birth or the one she that she admits to?
Good morning! Well, you certainly are going through it, well done for some excellent entries and well done for gaining your photography level 1 award! Nothing much going on here except grey skies and rain, David is going mad at the moment as the sky signal is being interrupted by the trees in full leaf......can you imagine especially at the Lions Rugby is on :) x
Thinking of getting the quiz team together for this Thursday, will miss our leader !
Have a super day and look forward to reading more on the 'The Kingswooders' Adventurers'
love Amanda
Your news... Sounds like David will just have to go to the pub to watch the rugby! Have a good quiz evening if you go - you can be the new leader as you wished me into that position! Please let me know how it goes. All the best, Helen
route What a shame about the damaged lock, but I am glad that there is another route and that you were not delayed behind it until July! I am sure you will enjoy which ever way you go.

Sun - lucky you! Hi Helen and John,
Spending a few days in France in the torrential rain and almost gale force winds. Trees are down and everything is flooded - one day short of the longest day, and although I do not wear a vest, I bet yours would be back on if you were here, so lucky you finding some sun.
The blogs are fabulous - thank you for your entertaining views of canal life.
Well what do you expect in France? But really sorry to hear about your weather - we've had the wind and trees down but the last week has been quieter. Appreciate your comments, thank you.
Morning! I cant believe you have been gone a month already, seems like only a few days ago we were at Liz and Richard's doing our cheerios :) always look forward to your updates and pictures, nothing much here to report haven't been to the quiz night yet, will let you know how we get on when we do. Love to you both and to Hattie,
Keep toasty!
In common with many others, we intend going on a cruise in our retirement, albeit a DIY affair. There will be no dressing for dinner at the Captain's table because she's fairly laid back about that sort of thing.
My intention is to write a travel log but I have no idea if we will have adequate broadband access on a daily basis and indeed whether I shall have anything worth saying. Please paste the link below into www.maps.google.com for our projected route plan, which is subject to change depending on:
