phew! hideously late comment I know but I've only just finished reading the entry! Wow, it's so strange to think that you're still in the midst of your travels when it's all such a distant memory for me now....but knowing how small the world is it's also strange to think that after just a 9hour flight I could be right back in the thick of it again, crazy! Well the ganj (as I think you should start calling it...sounds pretty cool) doesn't look half as mad as delhi and rajasthan. Probably a bit of a blessing as I should think you needed somewhere to chill after all the craziness, and what better place than a hippy hive in the himalayas (check out that alliteration). Pictures fantastic as ever, although I feel they could be improved by a little grace cardboard cut-out in each one, just for old time's sake, maybe in comical postitions such as underneath the guitar about to be smashed on the floor, spiked on one of the nails or in between the guys with the cows, playing a trombone.....just a thought. Not long til you're home now! woo! I fully expect you to come back with long hair, wearing hessian, and with a 'free tibet' tattoo on both arms, don't disappoint! Keep having fun, stay in touch and give my love to the big DL. love love xxxx
how come your pics were so much better than mine? i seem to spend my time staring open-mouthed instead of getting out the camera and should maybe start reconsidering the whole slack-jawed yokel thing. good to see some pics, had best time up in mcleod and you've kinda reminded me how much i wanna head back... made it down to vellore finally, and should be starting in auroville in a couple of days (speaking of hippies per inch auroville will give a run for your money) looking forward to living in the forest, but envious of mcleod. keep on hangin with the monks and learning the culture, handling the monsoon and dodging the touts! nice summary too.... how's your tibetan coming along? seriously wish we were there too, enjoy and immerse yourself happily. sare xx
ive learnt a lot! i admit to knowing nothing about the dalai llama, you have given me a history lesson which i am gratefull.thanks,i am thanks to you more aware.
Munks This Mcleod Ganj place looks unbelievably chilled and incredibly green judging by those two blokes. Definitely a hippy colony. DON'T EAT THEIR BROWNIES!!! Glad to hear you're spreading the values we treause in our modern British Empire, i.e. The Queen's English and corporal punishment to those inept at maths. People are starting to drift back to Cambridge now, i don't know if you heard about mat and seb, got their stuff rinsed in Barcelona then went to Madrid, Rome, Florence, Venice, Prague and finally the 'Dam on the way back home stopping to post a few letters... Grace is back, but you knew that, errrrrrrrrm.... Filly and Kate are coming down tomo and weds. I still have a tedious-as-you-like job but it's gone up to £6/hr so tis alles gut für mir. Viel Spaß und Gluck meinen Herr!
Proud of you Hey Babe, take a walk on the wild side...very proud of you. It saddens me to think that the Tibetian cultured has been so tortured.
You look healthy, hope you are enjoying it all. We sit, too smug and satisfied in San Diego, drinking our mojitos and swimming in our pool. Nonetheless, we think of you and hope that you are safe.
Love, Kim, Tim, Tony
mcleod brilliant blog chris, this trip is getting serious...yet the jokes get funnier, and the pictures- wow! We have been really looking forward to this one and youve surpassed yourself again! Saw first 2 hours of your video with Grace at weekend, great to see your smiling face and hear your laugh again. Love Dadxoxoxo
your blog is too long. please write it again heyyy chris! long time no see!
nice to see your having fun in "tibetten india". i'm too impatient at this moment it time to read the history books, so i'm gonna presume your not spending 7 years up there.
also, 2 + 2 = 5. you should know that. Fool.
umm, nice to see you've been jamming away and all that jazz. but we've been drinking so much that we might aswell be in the himalayas. My "sober night at the soul tree" started with drinking at 4.30 (blame grace and ben) and then involved a bottle of wine and cheap tequilla. oh dear
Oh yes! i have The Sleep Wells a gig. 13th September at the Portland (Kieran and Tom are gonna be the other support band, and i'm dragging my friends band from Exeter up!). Except i'm gutted as British Sea Power have just annouced they play the smallest london show in years on the same night. Bugger.
Also, i havent told grace this, but my friend george and I may be putting on a night at the soul tree, 14th August. We could also play that (it'd be the sleep wells or 10 ft. Monster). fun fun.
was ment to go see Hope Of The States tonight at BBC STudios! but i cant afford it and nobody else wants to come either! booo!
anyway. Enjoy the Chai tea. Its good. As is lemon./ And sun. And jamming with cows.
i will read the history bit later and try to write witty comments about it.
wow i guess you are back now grace (hope you are enjoying it) and i guess chris you are some crazy place as we have had no more messages from you... booo... but i think this was a lovely ending blog. good work. (chris if you can read thid write us some more stuff pleeeease and take care xoxox
Dear Chris and grace. I've just spent a while on the phone to Grace and she mentioned camels and being buried alive.
I know chris must have enjoyed all the attention he recieved from random indians on the train.... but the main question is, Did they find out his TRUE identity? you know what i mean, the whole "God" thing, Hahah.
Nice family by the way!
if you dont bring me back a camel, i will... umm, moan.
wooooooo also, dont drink almost solidly for 12 days. tis not good.
Wow! Your photos are amazing (career in photography, either of you?) It's the Strawberry fair this Saturday if you're not too tired, Grace, the excitment of it all might ease you back into life over here! (I'm not sure if we've ever met, but it's been interesting to follow yours and Chris' adventures) x x
not long left! I hope it wasn't u on that horse in that wedding parade! I thought u said the desert was like a sand castle on the phone!! (Dad explained it to me after wards) It looks sssoooo hot I hope you've got plenty of sun tan lotion! You said it was 45C in the desert, it was 8C here when u told us that! Only 2 months left chrisie! Its really wierd thinking of what u might be doing while im at home really bored! Look after ur self. Rose xoxoxox
India Looks like a true adventure...one of those that will last a lifetime. Make sure you backup all those photos to an online site as well as several cd disks. Take Care and have fun catching up with all your friends in Ely.

ACHTUNG!! The Monstrous Effects of Sun-Stroke Yay no more exams for me! sorry not been commenting but i can safely say that this has been an epic trip around the world for me just looking at your photos so i can only imagine what it has been like for you guys. Chris are you sure it wasn't acid-laced alcohol (as you neglect to mention exactly what the alcohol was) or is it the fact that you have sun-stroke and have assumed the belief that you are some sort of hindu demon whose sole purpose is to participate in as much mayhem as possible?
"Catching a boat through central Bangkok" looks as though Chris is keeping a watchful eye out for charlie. Grace, you look as if you are maintaining sanity a little better than Chris. All the water looks really nice except the water-bourne disease puddle and the river in Bangkok, it looks like the Thames only a compace shittier version of it with no whales or any large-scale commercial activity. Are full moon parties a regular occasion, i would assume so. Sounds mennnn-taaaaaal!
Last night i dreamed that chris was back and i said 'where's grace' and he said she's still there and i said 'wasn't she supposed to be back first? and chris said 'oh yeah' and turned into grace. I have pretty much just got up and was having a morning smoke whilst reading your comments and perusing your photos. I think i may go and watch the news since the Chilis at Woodstock is now finishing. Enjoy India and whatnot and I shall probably see grace before you chris. In the words of a legend: peace, love and happiness.
i was gonna say something mean to a comment but i wont because it'll be better displayed in artistic rage.
nice locusts. I'm amazed you never had them before. I mean, what do you think makes the special thai sause in asda so special? (in iceland, they have real ties in them)
also. nice one on the un-PC comment with the kid. its not every day you see kids playing that game in the western world. the children are the future. etc.
nice one on meeting the buddha. in the worlds of mat in the hat, i heard he's "well safe". I always knew chris was an unsusual suspect, but the OTHER TWO!? i had no idea.
nice one on the raving avec buckets. we tried something like that. It involved a strobe light, drum and bass, and a bucket... except all we had was a tablelamp, a drum (ie bongo) and a cup. Nevermind
I shall email you concerning yesterday soon. very soon. OH MY GOD!
(theres an orange monk outside.)
Koh! pah! Nang!
,... man u guys - i did laugh at ur picture comments! "small child playing catch the water bourne diseases" ... rather funny me thinks
All the best guys, ps. check ur band myspace!

oooo la la hiyaaaaa guys... pictures looka ce as ever, as do you with your tans! not much is going on here. weather is still RUBBISH has been proper raining hard the last few days but i guess its quite good cos we r suposed to be revising and this means we are a bit less tempted to go slaxck off in the park. ALSO other big uk news that i'm sure you are dyyyyying to hear is that big brother has started again here (yay) aaaand they've got some guy who has got torrettes in the house. he is proper funny. ALSO they are doing a charlie and the chocolate factory styleeee extravaganza where they have put some tickets (silver though not gold) into kit kats, like 100 of them, and then out of all the people who find them, they will randomly select one of them and they will go in the house too, next week!! how crazy is that! ahem, just thought you should be kept up to date! take care guys continue to have an amaaaaazing time and all that... xoxox
p.s when r u back cos it seems like u have been gone for time, and also it seems like you've been everywhere already :S xox
thailand I was just saying to Mum we havent had a blog from the travellers in Thailand and here it is! Fantastic, the best yet. Are you sure you want to be a doctor and not a travel writer and photographer Chris? you are showing great talent in both areas. Not sure about Da vinci Code though, havent seen it yet but what woudl Fr Sandy say? Better say 3 Hail Marys...take care, lots of love Dad
Fun... Looks like you're still having loads of fun! Alcohol, parties and beaches! Chris why is your left leg all wet in one of the photos? Probably just the lighting in the photo. If Chris had the right coloured stripes he'd look just like a tiger! Glad Da Vinci Code was good, going to see it tonight. See you soon! Nat(haniel!)
From the "special" guests Glad to see the pics are up, though who built the boat while some of the rest paddled in the sea??? Twas cool though and it was there the next day!
I am glad to see that Stoner changed his white swimming shorts for the pics......;)
Anyways enjoy the rest of your trip and look forward to seeing you and your Lost films when we get back!
Jack and Stoner xxxxx

I was very excited about this but now I am more scared, like this; AAAAAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! I have set up this blog thing with no help from Grace because I am the organised one. I am also the courageous, good-looking one but more of that later. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you our Travel Blog, which I have wittily named CHRIS AND GRACE'S TRAVEL BLOG THINGY!... full info
