West Coast Australia Road-Trip

Having returned to Australia from my three-year overseas working holiday in mid-2013, I was working away in Cairns trying to save money for my next adventure - a three-month holiday to Brazil, in time for the 2014 football World Cup - when I met a German girl named Linda Marie who had only just arrived in Australia on a working holiday of her own.

One thing soon led to another, and before I knew it we were living together and my plans for Brazil had been scrapped in favour of a six-week road-trip on the West Coast of Australia with Linda – which despite having spent the past eight years as a backpacker would mark a number of firsts for me. Not only had I never attempted a road-trip of this magnitude (we were planning to cover around 8000 kilometres in all), nor one where I would actually be sleeping in the vehicle; but in all of my travels - and for all of the people that I have met and friends that I have visited along the way - I had never actually travelled with anyone! Both literally and figuratively, we were entering an unknown world...
