''Java had remained a mystery to me.'' - Solving the mystery is often why I go to a particular country. When people ask me what the country I am going to visit is like, I tell them to ask again when I get back, because right now I dont have a clue. ''home of coffee'' - Did you manage to find a decent cup of Java there? In my experience, the bigger the coffee producer a country is, the more infrequently you can find a good cup of coffee there. ''a programming language'' - Does the programming language actually come from there? I though Java is an acronymn or it is called Java for the same reason as the next programming language that company make will probably be called pizza or cigarette. Or instead of Java ver 1.0, Java ver 1.1, Java ver 1.2 they will be called Java, pizza, Cigarette...

Mendut temple
Happy New Year to you Ali. I too went to Borobudur temple in September 2004. Your photos recalled me of my happy time there. The temple you forgot the name of is Mendut.

The AM Army
Why is it that everything sacred apart from sacred shut eye winks, must best done before sunrise, yoga, meditation, bus trips to spiritual sites. But then the sun comes up and it all makes sense. Lovely pictures Ali. So what about the info...X

WHALE SHARK
You have done a mervelous job! personally I havent seen a whale shark but, the depth of your story is magnificent. Its more than being in the water. Words picked anf sewed together in a sequence, action following each other as you explain I am left speechless. Keep it up. Next time let me know when you are doing diving so that I can get the story.

Jealous!
Reading this brings back memories of snorkeling with whale sharks on the Ningaloo reef in west Oz...that was pretty special. Now I really want to go back! Did you upload any of your photos to the Eco Ocean photo library project? They're cataloging each whale sighting...the spots are like fingerprints! And your shots are fantastic for identification!

Envious!
Your photos are amazing, I recently chose to go to Perentian over Sipadan and have been kicking myself since making that choice - your pics have just confirmed it! You've made me very jealous, albeit determinded to get there very soon!

Hello Ali I am on my way back up the coast of Brazil to Sao Paulo and looked in here to see what you have to say about the places I visited on this trip. Just shows what a big country this is, because you didnt blog about any of the same places as I visited. A few more days of warm tropical weather, before flying back to freezing Germany for me. But, I dont mind much, because it is almost Christmas and Christmas and 30C outside just wouldnt feel like Christmas. Mel
