better than hitch hiking
Thanks for the desccription on how to get there if I have the chance to return. An English girl and myself hitched from Coban to Lanquin in the back of pick-ups, and luckily caught the chicken-bus back.

No Mad Monk
Not when I was there - though there was an emphasis on the mind also, we learned traditional chants, a little about Buddhism - and about the history of Muay Thai - I have a lot of respect for Pedro - the school was great - and I hope to go back one day and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in more than just the physical aspects of the martial art.

weird!
is it true that if u come to this camp you have to bring a shit load of candles/insense/flowers?!?!?!?!?heard d guy that runs it is a mad monk!

Give the guy a break!
I visited the city for the brilliant film festival last year, I know Greeks are proud and not good at taking criticism but you have to admit whilst the festival is great, the commercial centre is great, the views of the snow capped mountains are awe inspiring...the holes in the pavements, the cables lying everywhere, ugly building blocks and unattended building sites do not do a lot for the image of the place. I have to say everyone I met was lovely, I must ask, did you try talking Greek?

Candles
I also checked out the "candle holders" while visiting the dome... they do seem to fit the bill of what i would think they would look like. Also, if you check out the wall that would be directly behind you when looking at the elevated portion with the holders, there are great big steel hooks for a rope or chain. They are obviously in connection with the supposed candle holders as they are only located where the holders are.

Hi- My friends and I are heading to the Galapagos around Thanksgiving--would it be a good idea to wait until we got there to find a boat tour??--we are only going for four days. We are just not sure if we should chance it and it seems most boats want you to sign up for a week--any advice??

Ali, I drop in on your blog every once and a while. Makes an old man envious . . . if I were 30 years younger perhaps our paths would cross. Love the pics and commentary. Keep safe.
