Heeeeeeeee....here I am/once again..la la la...I came back home 2 weeks ago and barely now I decided to post some photos and some fresh impressions. Everybody is asking me nowadays "How was it? What did you like more? Is it better than your country? Where are you leaving next? How do you feel now?" etc etc etc..what can you answer and how fast can you be in order to satisfy all the needs of your friends?! Well, last time I was here was December 2006 and now is August 2007, so imagine what a huge lap in time and space. I feel strange, I cannot say "alone" because at least one person is calling me every day in order to get out and chat. I've received invitations to discos, bars, cafes, picnics, mountains, seaside and ... read more

Before starting about day 4, I forgot to add in the previous entry that we went to a small restaurant in Mardin, the capital of Kurdish area. The people there were extremely gentle and kind to us, the music was a blast and the food A LOT! hehehehehe I danced a lot, I didn't eat so much, but again, I danced like crazy, with all the girls (belly dancers we could be) Early in the morning we left the other dormitory where we spent the night for Mardin Museum. The weather was as sunny as during the last days, but still with the cool air of the night...still I couldn't spot any cloud on the sky. The streets of Mardin seemed tiny, but clean, cute, with crowded small buildings, lots of differently shaped shops. The ... read more

Day 3: That night we could hardly sleep in some dormitories (by the way, in Turkey girls and boys don't share the dormitory, they are 2 separate buildings, sometimes in different areas of a city), for 2 hours (personally, I only took a bath and got ready to leave). We had to start our journey to Mount Nemrut at 1.30 am, because of the long distance problem. We arrived there at about 4 am and started to climb about 1 km of rocks, on a blistering cold, a tough wind and mini-darkness. Time seemds to pass so slow and I felt like going around without being up. In the end, at about 4.30 am we were there...sweating, freezing, tired, but full of relief...hehehe....I surely need some exercice. When the sun appeared, the spectacular view opened ... read more

Hehhhh....summer has arrived and the AIESEC tours started. First on the list was SAT (Southeastern Anatolia Tour) held by AIESEC Gaziantep. We decided to go there 1 day earlier since it takes about 13 hours by bus. The bus has reached Gaziantep at 4 am, which was totally different from what we were told when we bought the ticket..6 am. Anyway, we took a nap in the huge bus station. We started walking at 6 am..and we were thinking that it will take something like 15 minutes to the center, but we ended up taking the bus for 20 minutes :) Now, I have to thank God for learning Turkish at the proper time, otherwise I'd have never understood what was that man explaining to me..hihi. He took us (4 people) in the center - ... read more

First day of the tour...we made friends, we opened the jokes bag and up we went! First stop: Gaziantep Museum. There was mainly mosaic (last traces of an ancient city called Zeugma) and some coins, bones, glass and...ta ta ta...again mosaic. The weather outside was starting to burn our heads so this museum had a double "do good" job. It was nice and I have to confess that preistoric age is my favourite and by far the most interesting one. After we went out (we meaning 45 people), we had some "extremely quick" breakfast and then headed for Euphrates, the ancient river. You know, when I started studying history in primary school, I was told about Tigris and Euphrates. Now it was time to see them both. The trip to this place took some hours, one ... read more

Hmmm...it seems that all of a sudden I felt the need to write some more. I've got some pix I can add to. Maybe it's because of not travelling around Turkey for about 3 months. I have needs, you know? Well, what can I say. I feel so normal here all of a sudden. That's why is time for me to go away..where? - I guess that to other place. I need to get on moving. I'm bored and boring. But before my French class starts again...let me write some random thoughts..and what happened here lately..who knows, you might need this info for a future travel..here! Looks like summer settled in: +30 degrees C! I need to get some tan fast.. - they are working on the bridge near the center park...seems a giant green..aaamm...leech. ... read more

This is how it goes.. Life in this city is quite plain...the thing that makes it so special is it's brilliant colour. While walking on the strees you can never see the same colour in ever building. There are blue, pink, green, red, yellow, purple, orange..and so on and so forth. Streets are clean, poeple are young and smiling, everywhere the shops are calling you to taste their goodies, restaurants, chocolate shops, icecream corners...mmmmm.... One of my students once told me "If Eskisehir had a sea, it would be the perfect place to live in." and that's true. I can say that the only bad thing was the lack of a beach, a swimming pool or a sea. Besides that, it was very nice: no need to travel by car/tram/bus every day, because you can as ... read more

In Romania we say that you can't say you went to Turkey unless you've seen Antalya. The city is huge, situated somewhere in the south of Turkey. I went there with Ann from USA, Ewa from Poland and Mohamed from Tunisia. The trip took 8 hours by bus (during the night)..we didn't sleep at all and the sunrise was amazing... First impression: mountains in the sea and large stones on the beach! Some AIESECers picked us up from the bus station at 7 am and took us to a hotel. We had to wait for the others to arrive from other cities and have breakfast. So we decided to go on the beach. The morning was cool, the water warm and the stones..well...rocky! Hehehehe..but I must admit that the view was amazing! It was the first ... read more
