Today we spent the day in Ayutthaya, which was definetely amazing, although we probably could have ditched the non English speaking tour guide that gave us absoluetly gave us no information, except pointing us in the direction of the ticket box, in which we had thought was included in the prce of our tour. Ayuttaya is one of the ancient capitals of Thailand, before Bangkok, and after Sukkathai, it was quite amazing, with ruins that have lived on throught the ages, many of which reamain quite remarkably intact, the spread themselves amongst various parts of the city, with a real mix of old and new, although most of the ruins are within walls, in which there is separate admission fees to each set of ruins, which can become quite expensive to the budget backpacker, however it was definetly awesome, and well worth the trip, although by the end of it I think my son was a little over it.
