Today is a national holiday here to mark Maha Puja. Appaently the day when Buddha spoke to a 'spontaneously assembled' crowd of 1250 people. Wonder why Christian countries dont get a day off to mark the 'feeding of the 5000' ?
We indulge in a coconut ball each with mid-morning coffee. I am sure that these dont really count against our self enforced cake deprivation !!
I bike out to the farm in the afternoon to break up the day a bit. Sit looking across the rice fields for a while and not a soul in sight for miles. Really quiet as well apart from the noise of the wind which hasnt let up too much in days. I take back an old coconut for Jai to strip down for the husk. Definitely wont be anything to eat off this one though.
