Life in Thailand is still as great as ever. We managed to get a taxi in Phuket to the pier where the ferry leaves for Phi Phi Island. In the morning, we took it easy and went for a walk to Patong Beach in Phuket before leaving. While at the beach, we saw a man with a small pickup and a bunch of bottled water in the back. I asked if we could buy a big water and he resonded 80 bhat. That is about $2 which seemed crazy but we were both so thirsty we decided to do it. After paying him he handed us a bundle of 6 1.5 liter bottles of water! So good thing Scott has been lifting weights because he was stuck carrying it back to the hotel! After another crazy taxi experience; this time in a car, we made it to the ferry pier just in time! The ferry was a crazy experience with people sprawled out all over the upper deck and listening to how many different languages everyone was speaking! There was a group of young people on the front of the ferry that had dipped into the beers early and were doing
the limbo and jumprope with a beach towel! They were from the UK and Australia so it was fun to be able to chat with them a bit. We checked into our room on Phi Phi and realized we have the best pool view on the island! After relaxing and swimming, we found someone to book a dive trip on Scott's birthday and also booked a private longtail boat to Maya Bay. Estaban was the dive trip guide and he was nice enough to give us some great suggestions for dinner and a good place to watch a fire show. We ate some delicious seafood curry and giant prawns and then went too take in the fire show. About the third firedancer into the show we realized why Estaban suggested that show, he was a firedancer in the show! It was fun to hang out with him and drink some Thailand beer called Chang. During the night, poor Scott got attacked by a mosquito and had bites all over! So at 3 in the morning, he was up killing Mosquitos while I was giggling in bed because I was out of it all doped up on sleep meds! It was
an early morning with our longtail boat trip booked for 7:30. We went to Maya beach where the movie The Beach was filmed. After taking in the beautiful scenery and capturing some amazing photos, we jumped off the boat and did some snorkeling. Lots of beautiful nemo fish in Thailand! We then went to Viking cave and saw some cool old cliff dwellings. Then the last stop was monkey beach to see the adorable wild monkeys! After hanging out a while, one sneaky little monkey came up behind me and grabbed my butt while I bent over to say hi to his friend! Scott was behind me and watched the whole thing go down and laughed until the monkey came after him! After that we were both done with the monkeys and we headed back to the hotel to relax by the pool with delicious fresh fruit shakes! Another day and a half in paradise! This afternoon we are going to a hike to a viewpoint on the island! Enjoy the beautiful pictures!
