The Gang
2 Ozzie shielas, 3 uk lads and 2 smokin hot irish lassies. What a team! Monday was check out day. Our two Irish neighbours and the 3 English guys had decided they would tag along to Koh tao. We farwelled Power Beach resort and it's oh-so-lovely swimming pool bound for the ferry pier. We had booked and paid for a 12.30 ferry across to Koh Tao but when we got there the pier was packed, packed, packed with people. Everyone had the same idea as us.
The system involved exchanging travel vouchers for a sticker and paper ticket then lining up to get onto the ferry. At 1.30 we had managed to get onto the pier with stickers and tickets. We all had our ginormous packs, hangovers and were about to experience the frst signs of heatstroke when a lady began speaking. We were in shock to hear that the 12.30 boat had already left. We were going no where until 4pm. Ahhh! a few swear words later we were shuffled off the pier we ad spent so long trying to get onto.
What was inconvient for the others, quickly turned into a nightmare for me. All of us girls had taken a sea sick tablet as per instructions (1 hr before) and they
had kicked in. Being me, this meant I was rendered practically unconscious- literally a sleeping ball of chloe. They pulled me along to a few cafes and of course by the time 4pm rolled around I was back to my normal self. I can only think how lucky i was to have them there to look after me. If Iwas by myself I would have been alseep in the dust.
We did make in onto the 4pm boat and arrived in KT at 6.30pm ready for the next challenge of the day. None of us had booked accomodation. Knowing full well this was going to be a mission we devised a plan. It was not looking good but we eventually found a place called CJ's a mile out of town, up a mammoth hill but we had bed and that was what mattered.
We moved into town the follwing day. Laura, Mirium, Lisa and I bunked down at the SB Cabanas. A hot little box, close to the yellow brick road. It was good to be in town but my it was hot in there!
Lisa and I leave today. We have really enjoyed our days here. Manis,
Beach side antics
Fire twirlers took us from sunset to sunrise pedis, massages, reading on the beach, dancing on the tables at Choppers, catching up with my friends here, drinking white sangrias, watching the fire twirlers at Lotus, Fizz and various other beachside bars. We shared many, many laughs and so many wonderful memories. Again, I feel sad to leave such great new friends, but excited to continue the jouney.
Our ferry is at 2.30pm. We leave Chumphon at 9pm and arrive on Koh san road in Bangkok at 5am tomorrow morning. Lisa's first night bus experience this trip. YAY! Actually, not so bad now that we can do it together. Some one to watch the bags while we go to the bathroom, buy snacks, investigate accomodation options. It's so great to have her here. It's just like being back at Leander St.
So, Bangkok here we come!

Leander.... not!
Hi my darling. How can a hot, steamy, tourist packed Asian place be like Leander St? Only kidding, I know what you mean. It is great to get more blogs.... you were quiet there for a little while. Glad to know you are living life to the full, as always. The places you describe all sound so exotic and my life is so boring by comparison. I console myself with the thought that I will be in Kota Kinabalu next holidays and Central America next year.... can't wait! Dad has decided to come to Perth this weekend....the lack of rain at the farm means he cannot do anything except brood and worry, so I am glad he will be here. Hopefully we can take his mind off it. Mia and Jarrad are coming for dinner tonight... beef rendang. Not quite as exotic as what you will be eating, but tasty nonetheless. Love to you and Lisa. Mum.
