This was our last morning staying in Koh Phi phi so we wanted to make the most of our accommodation by having a swim the moment we woke up. It's so convenient having the direct entry into the pool! Because we were going to spend the night on a boat (called the maya bay sleep aboard- see later), it took some coordination to pack because we just wanted our little bags. After we checked out, we only had a few hours so we decided to go for a walk to the tsunami village, which we couldn't find and we didn't really know what we would find there anyways. Then we found a nice Thai place for lunch right on the beach (actually right across from) overlooking the beach where the water taxis and ferries go in ... read more

The night before, we spent an hour or more bargaining with various tour shops to get the best price for a seven island snorkeling trip. As the trip started at 1500 baht per person, we were able to get it down to 1000 baht per person. I was happy about this, however, I am sure others have done better. So, we were ready Thursday morning at 8:30 for our driver to pick us up. The next half hour was spent picking people up from several other hotels before we were dropped off at the pier. Once everyone was brought together, there was a group of 22 people for our particular tour. We were all given pink stickers to wear so that our guide would be able find us easily. Finally arriving by foot to our boat, ... read more

I can't wait to tell you about the events of the last few days! I feel like a pirate, or a character from Lost. We took there Ferry early morning to Koh Phi Phi Don Island and felt like we were pulling into Neverland. The green islands and long tail boats and colorful fish--I was waiting for Rufio to come Bangarang out of the jungle. Always had a crush on Rufio. Naturally we were charged some bogus “tax” to exit the ferry boat. You aren't told about this tax when you board the ferry in Phuket so you have no choice but to pay it. Otherwise, what, you swim back to Phuket?? They charge you to breath in Southeast Asia I swear. “Tweny baht!” for this and “onehunred baht!” for that... it's ridiculous. They even have ... read more

Phi Phi Island : The Beach ! Phi Phi Island is the top destination for traveler and backpacker for many years because the crystal sea shinning and White sand beach specially Maya Bay (The Beach) the first attraction for all time. This Video Clip I will bring you to explore all of Phi Phi Leh such as Monkey beach , Pileh lagoon , Viking cave and Maya bay. But most of tourists think that Phi Phi island is number one paradise island of Thailand, Actually they are wrong. The number one paradise island and real the beach in Thailand is "Similand island" (you can google it). I can't go there because that so far (3-4 hr. for heading) Similand island is isolated from human world that why i call real The beach (real Paradise on Earth) ... read more

Hiiiiiii! Last Saturday we got ready for the Full Moon party and boarded a speed boat - with our brightly coloured full moon party tops - to take us across to Koh Phangan - although this certainly felt like an undercover mission and it was not so reassuring that most of the boat crew seemed to be drinking bottles of Chang beer! When we arrived, we had some body paint done and wonderered around the busy streets (certainly backpackers central!) in search of alcohol buckets - the red bull was lethal!!. The actual beach was full of people firedancing and chilling to music and there was even a designated sleeping zone! After a night of partying on the beach and meeting a few other backpackers we got the speedboat back to Koi Samui where Issy had ... read more

On Saturday night i double booked myself with the football, Liverpool vs Everton FA cup semi final. Anything else and i probably would have gone in a mood for hours. But instead on Saturday late afternooon, we embarked on the most memorable journey of a lifetime, to Maya Bay - Ko Phi Phi Leh, aka "the beach". When we were picked up from Ton Sai pier, we boarded a big reggae style boat, which was red, green and yellow. As we were keen, we boarded about half hour early, and went straight up to the top deck to bathe in the late afternoon sun, and take some piccies of the harbour. The boat left on time aT 4pm, but I was confused why our group was so small. Usually the camping trip attracts somewhere between 40-60 ... read more

We both love camping, so naturally one of the things on our must-do list was to spend the night camping on Maya Bay Beach. One company has the exclusive right to take tourists there over night, and we were very much looking forward to enjoying the infamous beach sans crowds. If you didn't know, Maya Bay is where the movie staring Leonardo DeCaprio and Tilda Swinton, "The Beach", was filmed. It is a very popular tour stop, making it extremely crowded during the day. Getting to enjoy the beach with potentially a group of less than 40 was a huge appeal to us, as was being able to wake up on a beach! We managed to drag ourselves away from Railay for this trip. First we had to pay 150thb each for a longtail back to ... read more
