Well, eventually took off - luckily before Sydney airport closed for the storm. Got here - longhaul flights are like child birth, you forget the pain pretty quickly and are ready to do it all again!

Terri, saw lots of new tv "enlightened" with Laura Dern but no movies.

Singapore is all I've been told it was hot, rainy, clean and safe. Thank goodness the hotel pool is a hit with us all, breaks up the day (read, lets me sleep).

Night safari was amazing last night. Today the Singapore Duck, Singapore flyer and little india were all jammed in around time swimming in a tropical down pour. Tomorrow is a trip to China town, river cruise and a museum or two.

We are eating with the locals, very cheap about 15.00 aus for the all of us including drinks (though that's not alcohol, really really expensive). Both kids having a go at anything put in front of them - not sure how long it will last!

My knee is getting better and better - thanks Ange! Lots of walking every day - to the point where the kids tell me their legs are tired.

I'm not in to architecture at all - but this place is amazing, from the beautiful Raffles Hotel to buildings like the Marina Bay Sands (Built by US casino giants for 6.5 billon) - which seriously looks like a huge cruise ship in the sky. It's all so clearly a city that doesn't let history hold it back, very contemporary and so much built on land taken back from the sea. I think I have too many photos of buildings but can't seem to stop. Next stop Leeds.
