Hannah and I went at Seri Fantasy World last week which was located inside Manila Ocean Park. I availed of the promo from Metro Deal since last year and it was only now that I got to use the voucher. The P250 voucher is for the entrance to 3 attractions which are Trick Art Museum, 3D Cinema Plus and Mirror Maze. We enjoyed Trick Art Museum out of the 3 because the pictures looks so real when you get to see it! The gallery features 3D art paintings freehanded painted by famous Korean artists. The second one was the 3D Cinema Plus that marvels and tickles your imagination with a 3D movie. The movie that we watched was Rilley’s Sky Adventure. It’s an ok movie but I guess Hannah did enjoy watching it. Basically it’s really ... read more

When I went to Anawangin Cove in Iba, Zambales last weekend, I realized one thing... an epiphany I believe I should have encountered years ago.. but perhaps, it was just the right time for me to realize. Maybe I was just busy doing other things which required me to be stationary. I needed to finish my graduate studies and the ministry at church was just getting started. Now, it seems as if I entered a new season and doors are opening everywhere. THE WAVES WERE DIVINE. The waves splashing through the mysterious brown rocks along the shore in Anawangin Cove were divine. The wind carries the waters and make them touch your skin, as if whispering something. There is something enigmatic with such a scene... That's when it hit me. Going to different places is not ... read more

I wake to the thud of the air plane landing. Total shock, I went to sleep in Amsterdam mildly sedated. 12 hours later, I'm in the Philippines. I would be lying if I told you that I know exactly why I'm here - I don't. But what I do know is that through some random psychological process I decided that the Philippines is my destination - I can't believe I didn't think about coming here sooner. A $5 and half hour cab ride later, I'm at the hostel in Ermita. After 28 hours of traveling, time for some pampering. Hair cut, massage, nap and socializing with peeps from the hostel. Later, dinner, drinks, and some live music. Tomorrow - climbing a volcano at lake Tal.... read more

We were able to use the voucher that my sister purchased September of last year from Sun Cruises through Pakyaw deal. The deal was a 66% off on a Manila Bay Cruise valid for 1 and half hour cruise with set dinner onboard M/V Spirit of Manila. From the regular P550 she only paid P188 each. She purchased 2 vouchers and the other voucher was for me. We took our 2 daughters with us(Hannah and Dana) and the kids are still free since we declared them as 2 year olds :) If you have more than a 2 year old kid, I think you have to pay already the regular price of P550. We got to the docking area(behind Folk Arts Theater) at around 4:45PM so we waited till the registration started at 5:15PM. Once on ... read more

We forgot the chickens! Only God knows what these are about. Crates and crates of dyed baby chicks. Pets for children although they dont survive for long. Not suprisingg as they're placed in a large sandwicch bag and held tightly shut for the journey home. Cute but cruel... xxx... read more

Ello ello We're now in Manila in the Phillipines and life is much different. Not the best of place if I was honest. Poverty is everywhere, Bangkok doesn't come anywhere near close. Children looking after children and sleeping rough. Beggars are a plenty and seems like everyoneis out to get your last Peso. Soon clued ourselves up after paying 3 times as much for our initial cab journey, only cost the equilivant of ten pounds for an hours journey though. So musn't grumble too much. We've been here for three days now, one more than expected as there were problems with our flight to Palawan today (paradise- google some images). But we fly tomorrow for definite. We went to the Philly embassy today and have extended our visa for another month as we are desperate to ... read more

It wasn't an ideal start to the trip, I was in the kitchen doing a bit of tidying up before leaving for the airport when I received a text advising me that our flight to Darwin had been cancelled. We had booked the tickets via Darwin as as it was quite a bit cheaper and we wanted to have a stop over in Darwin on the way back. Anyway I rang Jetstar and they put us on flights the following morning to Darwin via Brisbane that got us there in time for the connecting flight to Manila via Singapore. It was a bit of a marathon, we left the house at 4.45am Friday morning and arrived in Manila at 4.00am (on time) Saturday morning. The nice thing about arriving early in the morning is that there's ... read more

We left for the airport at 8:00 pm on Friday because our flight left so early in the morning. We got caught in a blizzard on the way, which was our first big snow of the year. On our bus on the way to the airport, Joel called me and said that he had booked his flight for 24 hours after he thought he had. Whoops! Hilarious, though. So he had to make sure he was on our flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa, because that’s the scarier one to do by yourself. Luckily he got to have the extra day by himself in Seoul instead of Manila, since he’s very comfortable in Seoul. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep at the airport so I just explored until the gate opened at 5:00 am. It was disgusting. And ... read more
