Day 28 HOME!
Not much sleep last night as we went to bed at afer 3am after getting those last minute night photos of the twin towers and the pummeling we got from the massage. Still it’s been a fabulous four weeks and it has just gone so bloody quick.
Up at 6am for a bit of fruit and coffee for breakfast before our van turned up on time at 7am to take us to the LCCT. An uneventful journey, we watched the sun come up and then I’m afraid David and Mary’s last dramas of the holiday began.
We all checked in and paid our customary chunk of excess baggage, which we all knew was coming but at RM20 per kilo not unexpected. After checking in we went outside for Gina to have a smoke and David and Mary had a coffee or tea.
We then went to go through immigration to get on the flight. Gina and Peter wemnt through OK but David and Mary got pulled up as they had too much cabin luggage. They had to go and check most of their cabin baggage on the flight and this ended up costing them
anther RM600 as they were not allowed to carry that much on board.
That done we boarded our flight to the Gold Coast and eight hours later we were home. Quite cool at 17C after the plus 32C we had all the time we were in Malaysia. It took about two hours to get through, mainly quarantine, as just about everyone had some form of food or wooden products to declare. Got through that with no dramas and the airport parking people were waiting for us, David got the truck and we headed home.
We arrived at Boondall just after 11pm, unloaded the truck and David and Mary then headed home to Samford. I imagine that they got home just after midnight and so the Grand Vacation to Malaysia came to an end. Abby and Stu and Danika and Zavanna leave on a late Monday flight and arrive home early Tuesday morning.
To all those people out there who have helped and assisted on this trip - thank you. To Kylie Petit of Travel Counsellors, the staff at Bayview Resort and Holiday Villa, to Mr Ba and Mr Eddy and all the other wonderful staff at Cactus,
to Anita and Christina at Sarang Galloway, we thank you for making our trip special.
And most of all, the people of Malaysia. You are friendly and helpful and we love your country and we will most certainly be back again very soon. There is some negativity in Australia towards Malaysia and Malaysians but we have found none of this in our three trips to your
country and where ever we go we will promote Malaysia as a relaxation and shopping destination.
Thank’s to everyone who has read this blog and sent us comments. It’s been a real hoot doing it, occasionally time consuming, frustrating in the beginning, difficulty finding wifi hot spots at times but in the main, pleasurable.
Signing off for the last time on this trip. Looking forward to the next.
