Day 26 Another day dawns and as it’s Friday we probably should go to a mosque. Problem with that is, most mosques do not allow visitors on Fridays or during prayer times. Three trips here and w still have not been inside one. We will have to rectify that next trip.
Today we pretty much split up and went our separate ways. Last minute shopping and everyone with different needs aspirations. So I’ll just detail each persons exploits till 6pm individually.
David and Mary headed off out into the suburbs to the Mid Valley Megamall. This place is just huge with a shopping centre that is just over 500m long and on 6 levels- and Westfield thinks Chermside is big. They spent all day there and got back to the house late afternoon.
Stu and Abby and Danika and Zavanna headed off to the twin towers once again but were once again disappointed. They arrived about midday after and hour on the bus but were too late to get tickets to the sky bridge. Because the experience is so unique, the tickets are in such high demand you need to arrive early to get them. They are planning
to try again early on Sunday as Peter & Gina and David & Mary leave at 7am to go home.
Peter and Gina went up town to Bukit Bintang and spent a while checking prices in shops and we went to the food court at the Pavilion for lunch. Got some new golf shoes just in case the old new ones wear out this year. We then went to,. where else, but Sungei Wang Plaza. We split up and Gina did a bit of clothes shopping and Peter went to the IT section but found it a bit disappointing.
We then came across the Harveys in the plaza and went to Low Yat Plaza after stopping at the market stalls on the way. Got a bit more techie gear and then headed back to the house. By this time, David and Mary had returned from their sojourn at Mid Valley.
Stu and Peter and the girls stayed at home while the others went a wholesale clothing complex which Gina and Abby said was very disappointing. Apart from a very few items, purchases had to be made in multiples, which was not at all satisfactory. They came back
after about and hour and David and Mary followed maybe 45 minutes later - soaking wet. We had had a torrential downpour which really cleared the air, in fact it seemed to melt the smog and haze away.
As night fell, the rain eased off and we all headed off into the clear night. The Harveys headed back to Times Square as the kids had been promised that their feet would be eaten by the fish. They had a good time there and had dinner and then did some shopping.
Peter and Gina went to Sungei Wang Plaza after buying some bags and a wallet on the way. After a short time looking around they went to dinner at Nandos. By this time, it was almost 10pm and they headed back to the house.
David and Mary went to Chinatown for some more retail therapy and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I have never known any bloke to enjoy shopping a such as David does.
The end of another day looms and tomorrow is the last full day before we fly home on Sunday - lots to do tomorrow.
