Hey fans!! Back again (after another week or more! - oops!) and lots to tell. We wrote you last from Koh Tao, the downscaled version of Phangan. Following a great last night, and another ladyboy show - this time a lot of our guys got involved for the finale! Very funny indeed - We took a boat over to Koh Samui. Immediately you got a feel for how much bigger this island was, and much more advanced. Having checked into our room for 3 at Ark Bar - the hub for beach/party life - and had a little nap we jumped in a cab to meet Adam at his local, an authentic Irish Pub, and a few of his friends including the one and only Clayton. A couple of pints later and we drove back to ... read more

Apologies and a warning straight away this time round: Firstly, sorry for posting pictures of sunshine, I appreciate that most of the people who read this blog live in the UK where the sun is nothing but a cheap tabloid newspaper. And the warning, there is some gratuitous nudity in one of the photos, sort of......! As I write this on Sunday 21st August 2011, I can honestly say that I am older and wiser than last time I posted a blog. That is right, I am now 29 years old, which if my mother is reading this will surely be news enough to send her to the kitchen to get a glass of wine. That's right mum, your "little boy" is nearly 30! To celebrate my birthday we had arranged to meet some firends, Melanie ... read more

My ferry for Gili Tranwangan (or Gili T) was at 10am so my transfer collected me from Echoland at 6:30am. I arrived at Gili T at 11am and stepped off the boat onto what can only be described as a paradise Island covered in travellers. The pure white coral sand beach was lined with boats collecting and delivering a variety of produce and travellers from all over the world. At the back of the beach was a concrete path lined with trees on one side and a plethora of restaurants, hotels, dive shops and bars. The strangest thing about this busy area was the lack of mechanical noise i.e. cars and motorbikes. The only forms of transport on this island were push bikes and horses....... I liked it already! After collecting my bag and meeting up ... read more

So this is coming 2 months after the end of our trip but our time in Indonesia was so unbelievably beautiful that I wanted to not only share it with you guys but make sure I have this little blog to come back to whenever I miss the heaven we left behind :) By the time we landed in Jakarta, we were beyond spent! Our last weeks through Cambodia and Vietnam had all been 6 to 7 am wake up calls with long tiring days so we ended up sleeping in and didn't have time to tour Jakarta before our flight was due to Bali. We arrived late in the evening and took a boat the next morning to Nusa Lembongan, an island Southeast of Bali. It was much smaller and a lot less touristy, the ... read more

I spent a total of 6 days in Senggigi just relaxing and not doing very much at all. It is quite touristy compared to the other places I have been to in Lombok, with many hotels, restaurants, bars, and the usual touts. It has some nice but not great beaches and a little snorkeling which I didn't try because the current was too strong. A lot of the restaurants had bands playing in the evening and I found them to be very good. I finally bought a mask and snorkel which I should have done a couple of months before to save me money every time I rented one. I stayed in a nice little hotel with a nice clean room for $9 a night without breakfast just 100 metres from the main area. Senggigi beach ... read more

Helt klart stort potentiale for initiativ rige entreprenører. Gad vide om der er lige så øde om 15 år?! Vi blev sat af ved stranden, hvor en lille båd lå klar i vandkanten og ventede på at ... read more

Gili Trawangan by Polona Gili Trawangan is filled with tourists, who come here for a short holiday and with a single intention – to party. The island itself is small and on the beach, as you walk along, there are so many bars, you could go to a different one each night of the year. But although the streets are busy, as soon as you move to a side street you get away from all the hustle and bustle. It was a tourist mecca, but we enjoyed it still, as you don't have to be a part of it if you don't want to be. Also, what we noticed on the first day, not only is there enough drinks, but everyone openly advertises magic mushrooms, although they are illegal. So if you want to “fly to ... read more

We are supposed to be in Singapore but we opted to spend a week in the Gili islands and bump our flight off instead! We arrived at Gili Trawangan from Bali, where we had spent a week with Meg & Rich travelling from Denpasar to Ubud, then Tulumben to Padangbai. We had a brilliant 27th birthday in Ubud, first we went to the monkey forest where the boys were mauled by hungry and aggressive chimps, then Meg and I had 4 hours of pampering! It was great, we had 3 treatments each, for just over £30!! We had an hour facial, a reflexology massage and a full body Balinese massage with a honey scrub. Our day of pampering ended with a flower bath which we were both looking forward to, most of all because we were ... read more

I decided to book a 3 day 3 night Mt Rinjani(Indonesia's 2nd highest volcano at 3726 metres) tour from Gili Islands because it seemed quite a reasonable price at $125 and they would drop me at Senggigi afterwards. The price included all transport, camping gear, porters, guide, food, and water, except for lunch and dinner on the first day at the guesthouse in Senaru. I was told to be at the port at Gili Air at 7am, but we didn't leave on the boat to Bangsar until after 8am. It was a very short trip to the port and I was very surprised how tiny it was. From there I received a 1km horse and cart ride to the waiting car where I joined three others headed for Senaru, the starting point for our trek. After ... read more
