A Typical Day at the Ashram. A huge, very loud bell is rung at 5.a.m. to say that chai (tea) is ready in the kitchen. Much as I love chai, I really don’t love it that much, so I roll over and go back to sleep. The next bell is at 6 and that’s for the children’s fitness, yoga, prayers etcetera. Once again, I try to perfect the art of rolling over and going back to sleep, but not for too long. About 6.30 I take my bucket and walk to the other side of the building to where the geezers are and get some hot water, although lately I haven’t bothered as it’s good to have a cold one.
