Hello Followers and blog readers and friends,
So today is the move from Sihanoukville to Kampot, we have been dreaming about this for the last few days now!!!
Vick is still bad with stomach bug and I still have a little flu but both much better for this journey, its only a 2 hour drive but is in a small mini bus with everyone crammed in, on the worst roads around (well not seen these Vietnamese roads yet).
We checked out of the 'Everythang hostel' and felt miffed having to pay our high bill as it was a shit hole!!! We read a few of the reviews over the last week there on trip advisor and it was bad, people with ants in there rice, slugs in there salad, food poisoning (Vicky and others) plus people slating everything about it!! Cant believe the reviews on different sites are so majorly off from one another!!! (our review was harsh really but totally true, if your reading this don't stay there).
So we chilled out reading and updating the blogs in the morning then got picked up at 11am ( there
11am was 1130am). After many pick ups we ended up with 1 person extra in the bus so the drivers assistant had to get out (strange i know). There were the German couple from the boat trip yesterday on the bus ,which was nice for us to chat to. (small world really)
After an hour and 45 mins we got there (our driver overtook everyone, he would have given the stig a run for his money). The roads were ok really and bus was kept chilled with the A/C.
Thankfully our hostel was 20 meters from the drop off point!! (WINNING) We booked in and then got dropped of at another hostel which was down the road about 1 min walk, got shown to our room which is perfect, double bed, TV with english channels (speaking not BBC or anything) and a fan!! Its $8 dollars a night and $15 for AC however being an electrician have managed to get the A/C on for free so once again WINNING!!!!!! love it!!! (Harris loves a bargain or freebie)
So We had lunch in our hostels main restaurant and it was very good
and cheap, Vick had a fish sandwich and I had Steak and chips with salad for $3.5 ,it was so tasty.
We headed back to the room to organise things, Vick's stomach flared up again so we chilled out and she had a kip to settle things while I watched a film (Horrible bosses 2 is funny as hell, watch it people). Once Vick was up she didn't want dinner so I went out to grab take away food for me and some water for Vick.
I found loads of amazing places to eat but didn't want to eat on my own so ordered pizza from this nice looking Italain place and got some extra fresh bread for Vick incase she fancied something later!! While waiting, these Cambodians pulled me into his kind of bar to watch the football with them and chat, they are very friendly people offering me beer and things (guessing I would of had to pay still), but I refused as I wanted to get back quickly but still chatted and watched Man Utd draw with Spurs as the pizza took so long!! Also I didn't care what the result
was was really just excited to get back and watch the saints game next on in my A/C private room!!! haha
So the pizza was amazing and the game was good very happy with the draw, had the choice of english commentary, Cambodian or the crowd noise which was different!! After I finally took breath after the game finished, Vick and I chatted about the next day plans and then as we were both shattered and fell to a nice sleep!!
Thanks for reading!!
Love N&V X
