Safari For Souls Summer Campaign
Moshi Day 2

It was another amazing day here in Moshi, during this year's campaign, Since you some what know the routine of the day stays about the same I thought I would try to give you a few of the fun stories brought back to the building as the Bible Teams gathered back for the evening Children's Classes after eating their Beans and Rice...

Emily & Lindsey's Group went out and started down near the Moshi Clothes market street, walking up and down the roads you see some pretty cray things, but today they watched on as a man tried to steal a pair of shoes from a woman in the market, and run away with them only to get caught by the mob of men chasing after him and then to get beaten with some sort of stick to the ground, in the mob justice mentality that is so prevelent here in Tanzania. The girls were in shock and a little shaken up at having seen such a sight... But Abagail was with them and said they were perfectly safe and far from harms way leaving the scene as soon as it

broke out...

Sarah's Group actually had studied with an Islamic girl yesterday who had been scared her family would beat her for even letting them in the house and for thinking about studying the Bible, and you never know how serious that is until you encounter what they did today. When going by to study a second time and check on the young girl, they found her family at the gate very angry and made her come out to the hedge with her head hanging low and shallow behavior, as if she had been beaten, and made her return to them the Bible that they had given her yesterday and they were told not to return.

I went out with my origional team and we had 2 great studies with women in their homes, and surrounding neighbors and enjoyed seeing Julia Mwakabange giggle and laugh at Gracie everytime she saw someone passing by she would run ahead and hand them a track before we could get to them... She said Gracie was doing all the work today. With a little smile and a wink Gracie told me she loved telling people that Jesus loved them! After our second

study I got a call to return to the building because I had the van keys in my purse... So Gracie and I headed back that direcetion.

After getting a drink of water and loading gracie back up with tracks, she said mama I'm tired can I sit this one out... (We do a lot of walking) So I left her with Garrett and the ladies cooking at the building. Garrett had volunteered to stay at the building and watch little CJ today so his mama Julia could go out with the Bible Study teams. I thought that was sweet of him to think of... So Gracie and Garrett watched over CJ while the Mamas at the buildign watched over them all.... And I went out only to find a different group than the one I had left with.

That afternoon we had 3 more good studies.... We returned to the lady at the little Duka from the day before to continue answering her questions, but one of my favorite studies... when I walked up to the group Sara was teaching in a small little store that we couldnt all fit in... so Teresia and I sat out on the porcha and a young man named Ekra passed by... with a weighing scale in his hands and asked us if we would like to be weighed.... (tell me that one would work in America...???) At first I thought it was some sort of game like you see at Sixflags.... like I'll guess your weight... but no just a simple.. 300Shillings to find out how much you weigh since most people dont own a scale. He was just 15 years old... coming down from the mountain area of Kibosho.. to make money to help support his family. With no father adn only his mother at home.. and being the only child. He had good intentions. I dont know how to explain it but you could see he had a good heart. He imediatly asked what we were teaching and sat down, setting his scale aside to want to study the Bible too.

Tha day was full of stories that I could go on and on about... But time this evening is cutting short and we have to wake up early again in the morning to start over.. So I will just mention a few to remind myself of them later and I will write about them more in depth then.

* Visiting the Soweto Primary School ~ Over 300 Students and 6 Teachers setting up studies with the Teachers
*Leslie's Study with an Older Catholic man on the roadside
*George's Lesson on The Propper Authority
*ALL The Standard One Students from Boma showing up for the Bible Class
* Studying with Hilda one of the teachers
*Mary, Timothy, & Josephat's Mother coming to the church today
*The 1st day of the Children's Bible Class with 93 children in attendance

The Lord just continues to bless us with amazing days at hand and those that are to come in the weeks ahead, and time is our only enemy... With so much to do and so little time to do it in. Please continue to join us in prayer for God to be glorified in all that is being doen for His sake!

Hope you all are having a great week and are enjoying hearing the daily reports....
Love Julie
