We hope and pray that this report finds you safe and well, and in service to our Lord. We have wrapped up the Moshi campaign week, and without much delay packed and loaded everyone up to move down the road to Arusha to begin the Seminar week. We have seen two of our visitors return home already, as Ryan Tuten and Ralph Rowand headed home this evening. But we also have welcomed Ralph Gilmore and the Group of 7 from Freed. Today, Tuesday the 10th, the men began their seminar week at ACSOP. Over 50 men were in attendance this first day to hear various lessons from teachers from all over the world. The theme for this year’s seminars is on Bible authority, “Moving forward, Back to the Bible”. Some of the classes today have been on biblical authority and instrumental music, taught by Edwin Tusekelege. Edwin has been a faithful gospel preacher for many years down in the southern part of Tanzania, in Mbeya. Biblical authority - ascertaining it, by Samuel Omutele, an evangelist from Kenya. Biblical authority in Marriage by George Jensen, a fellow Moshi missionary. After lunch, specific classes were conducted on Islam, by Fred Cabler, a current
student at the McDonough Bible School, in Georgia. Singing is being taught by Christopher Mwakabanje, an evangelist in Moshi, and difficult text in the bible taught today by Desdery Masawee, a teacher at Arusha Bible School and an evangelist here in Arusha. So as you can see, we had a wonderful first day and are looking forward to the remaining three.
Tomorrow the ladies will begin their seminar at the Arusha church building, from 9AM to 3PM, Julie will be MC’ing the Day for the Ladies introducing all the speakers as they present their lessons, we tried to get some new teachers lined up this year for these men’s and women’s seminars and the children’s seminar will also begin tomorrow after the ladies are finished with their classes from 4PM to 6PM using the same materials that were prepared by the Kensington Woods Group and used last week in Moshi. “Young People Who Loved God”
We have changed things up a little this year, in the fact that all of the campaigners are staying at the ACSOP dorms. And each Missionary Family is taking a night to arrange and organize the large group’s meal preparation, so that we
can all stay here together. For the last two nights we have been able to share our evening meals together. It has been a good time of fellowship and visiting with old friends, and making some new ones in the process. This year’s Safari for Souls campaign is not even over yet, but I will make the first plea. If you have ever considered serving on a short term mission trip, now may be the time to start, in 2009 many are already making plans on joining us here. Are you? It’s not too early to start planning and praying about how God could use you here in Tanzania.
Pray for us all as we labor here together, pray for those loved ones who have been left at home, that we may all stay safe, and be a productive force, for the Kingdom. Pray that the two campaigns next week in Arusha and Mosquito River will produce much fruit and bring glory and honor to God.
We cannot close without saying thank you again to all of you who make this possible, for our family, as well as the many campaigners who are here this summer. We will
The School Dorms
