I was just wondering which blogger has visited the largest number of countries....
Let's say that you need to have spent 24 hours somewhere to claim that you've been there - to avoid inclusion of places where you spent an hour in the airport 😊
I made it to 36 countries (18 of which are in Europe) on 4 continents...
Who can beat me? Most of you I presume 😊
Reply to this I'm about the same... 32 at last count - or was it 33 😊
Reply to this I managed 33 of the European countries + Cuba+The USA+ Canada. That's 36 i think.
Reply to this I too am in the mid-30s of countries, and thought that was a sound effort, until I met someone in India earlier this year who had just over 70. However, have a read of the blog by the well-travelled Stuart,
The Last Great Wilderness. Stuart's roomie on the sea-voyage, a chap named Lon Spero, leaves a comment at the end of the blog and claims to have visited 97!
Wonder if there should be a "Travelblog 100 Club" for those who reach that ellusive number of countries - that certainly is one of my many goals in life.
Reply to this Do we count Monaco and the Vatican? If so, my total is 24. If you can't include those then it's 22.
I say you can count visiting the country is you've passed customs. I have been on planes that refueled in Iceland and another in Portugal. We didn't get off the plane and only refuelled so I can't count these two countries.
Reply to this I am a new,I have only travelled my own country in china.
Reply to this hmm, after 15 I stopped counting, but I guess I'm right up there, soon I'm going to London to live, so I have no idea, but it's been alot, but I am only 16 so I have alot of traveling ahead of me, because I get sick of one country if I'm there too long....I call it the Get-Away Syndrom, comes from too much traveling before birth 😉))
Reply to this We just got home last night from travelling through 11 countries in 30 days (including Vatican & Monaco). I guess you could say 12, but we only stopped over in Singapore.
We had a great time, but are definately happy to be home back in oz.
Reply to this In the mid sixties..., but someone said you have to sleep in a country to be able to count it, so I's say a round 60. Still, a colleague of mine is at 138 and counting, guys. I mean... 138 and counting, sleeping in every single one of them!!! I wonder if I'll ever catch up with that...

22.. Still lots to visit, but I keep going back to countries I've been before.
Reply to this 38 for me and I haven't even touched on Central/South America, Africa or any of the 'stans' yet! Time to get back on the road me thinks!
Reply to this Somewhere in the 60's or 70's I think.. Never bothered counting them untill somebody once asked me to.. My own criterea for having been in a country (that is how I count it for myself) is to have seen a substantial part of it and been there for a week or so... Of course for Vatican City that would be a bit difficult and probably not needed, but you get my point.. Of course people from Europe have it a bit easier... There are so many countries so close to each other and more appearing every so often, that you can easily scrape up 30 in just Europe..
Reply to this I am now at 26 countries, on 6 continents. Interestingly, I've been to the 6 largest countries in the world.
Reply to this I think at about 12 before my RTW and afterwards id imagine i could add possibly another 22- 25 to that😊
Reply to this Around 40
I am not sure how many continents, because I am never quite sure if some countries are in this or that continent.
Around 5 continents, I think.
