Hey Guys,

All you plans look great! I can't wait to go to some of the places you guys mentioned once I'm older and recovered from my Europe trip!

My current plan is as follows:

Start in England to see family in Derby, then go to London, Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza, Valencia, Rome, Athens/islands, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam and the Munich for Oktoberfest!

My flights to and from Australia are already booked, along with a few places for accomodation. I'll be arriving in England on the 1st of August and travelling for 10 weeks!

If any of you are in any of those places at a similar time, I'd love to go have a beer!

Cheers,
Olly. Reply to this

If you want, you could post that in the Looking for Travel Companions forum, to find people who will be there when you are.

All our travel seems to be exclusively based around where people are getting married at the moment which is lovely but can be a little frustrating. We've got a wedding in Shropshire UK this weekend, one on the Amalfi Coast in Italy in September and one in Sydney in October. We're using all our leave and a lot of money to go back to Australia when the plan is to be travelling around Europe!

We also have plans to spend Christmas and New Years in Morocco, and then bits and pieces of Europe when we can. Longer term we'd love to drive from London to Cape Town...but with dwindling funds this is still a pretty long way off! Reply to this

I had to cancel my trip of this past weekend to Fairmount Hot Springs - money being what it is. But did manage to slip over to Hardin for the Re-enactment of Custer's Last Stand. I will put up a blog on it later. Reply to this

I am new to travel blog but just returned from Iceland ( what a great experience). I am now starting to plan my next trip for February 2010 to Thailand, Bali, Australia and New Zealand.

Anyone else going at that time? Reply to this

We got back the end of June from a week on Broadkill Beach, DE and a week in Ocean City NJ. Coming home we always take backroads so it took us another week to get home to Ohio.

In October, we leave for 5 weeks in Emerald Isle NC and then 6 weeks in North Topsail Beach NC. We usually rent houses when we travel and this trip is no exception. We have a 7 bedroom 7.5 bath house rented in Emerald Isle and I'm currently looking for a place in North Topsail Beach. Ocean front with plenty of room and an elevator and wifi are the major requirements. Anything else is gravy.

If anyone has some suggestions for the second 6 weeks either NC or SC or Georgia, that would be awesome! Reply to this

Hi Greg,

This year my travels are in Europe (France & Spain). In January, I'm off to Argentina, Buenos Aires & El Calafate. I hope to see Torres del Paine NP in Southern Chile while in El Calafate.

At the moment, I'm making enquiries at work to see if I can take 2 months leave of absence to travel at the end of 2010. If I get my leave of absence approved, I plan to see Brazil, Uruguay and possibly Paraguay for the first time. Plus planning to return to Argentina and Chile (concentrating on the Lake Districts and Patagonia). If I don't get my leave of absence, I probably see Brazil on a shorter trip and eventually quit my job for doing an even bigger trip!

Happy Travels! Reply to this

I just returned from my seven week trip to Africa. But didn't feel like I gave it long enough and am planning my trip back for September 2010.

Going to do the gorillas in Rwanda and then a quick stint through Uganda and back to the Masai mara in Kenya. Then flying down to johannesburg to do the garden route. Then doing a trip from cape town, through Namibia and Botswana before arriving in vic falls. Travelling through Zimbabwe with a friend whose from Zimbabwe and back to Johannesburg before flying to Cairo and going through Egypt and Jordan. Then Dubai on the way home. Also contemplating a brief stint in kuala lumpur but this will depend on money! Reply to this

Hey Zenisischick, I am planning a big trip to USA too, but it won't be for maybe 2 years yet. I'm planning on visiting California, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, Florida and New York, all by Greyhound! How are you doing it, and what states are you visiting? I'm going to all the warm ones as I love the heat and hate the cold!

Over the next year I am going to Malta beginning of October, SE Asia-Thailand for 3 weeks and Bali for a week (with a few days in Malaysia) in June and a little trip to Barcelona in August, but my plans extend wayyy beyond that. In fact, I wish I had put off Thailand till after my degree (and to a month when it is not rainy season there) and done my Europe or USA adventure in June but hey ho its all booked now!!! 😊 Reply to this

We are traveling to Emerald Isle NC for 5 weeks in October and November. We have a house rented on the ocean waiting for us and I'm ready for it! We are driving and will take expressways down from Ohio and then take back roads back home. Coming home, we take the atlas in to the hotel each night and decide what town looks good and then plot the course to that town. Any place we see along the way that looks interesting, we stop and explore. So, we should be home sometime in December. Reply to this

Yipee - just booked my flights to Africa - I'm going travelling again at last!! Actually not till end of next March but at least there is a real escape date in place now! 2 weeks South Africa (Wild Coast mainly), 2 weeks Tanzania (Zanzibar and tbc), 3 weeks Kenya and Uganda safaris plus gorillas in Rwanda.
After that hopefully I'll be off to SE Asia and then Oz/NZ to work for indefinite time...soooo excited! Reply to this

March will be here before you know it - I always find that the last 50 days goes very fast. You'll love East Africa, it is a wonderful place - especially the safaris and those wonderful gorillas. Make sure you bring your mascot - he will love it! Reply to this
