You could put a promotion for your Charity in the Classified forum if you want. Also you could make a promotion for it on your profile page. Just some ideas. 😊 Reply to this

I am going to Nurnberg, Germany on Saturday. The Christmas market is particularly beautiful there. We go there every year on the 5th or 6th of December to look at it. Reply to this

Mel,
I am jealous, I have wanted to see the Christmas markets for several years now, and was planning to go this year when my cousin decided to get married over the xmas/new years holidays so I am going to be going to Buffalo, NY for his wedding instead (not nearly as beautiful as the markets I'm sure!) I could have gone earlier, I suppose, but that week is the easiest for me to travel because no one is coming into my store then. Enjoy!

I am not doing too much exciting stuff - going to San Francisco in a couple of weeks for 4 days b/c my boyfriend has an interview out there. Just came back from Puerta Vallarta for a long weekend and headed to Punta Cana for a leadership retreat in the end of January. In March though, I get to go to South Africa, Botswana and a side trip to Victoria Falls. Very much looking forward to that! Reply to this

I hope so! A goal for this week is to sit down and plan out all of my trips for the next year that I both want to see and feel are good for my business. That is one of the top on the list! I just have to space them out accordingly and make sure they resemble work enough that I can do them through my company! Reply to this

I'm a real planner and get real pleasure out of researching/googling and checking out the deals. I leave the itinerary open, so there is a bit of a spontaneous feel to it! My next big trip is to Peru. I am home exchanging with a couple from Lima, staying in their house and driving around to all the sights in their car. Then I will split off and go for a voyage to the galapogos islands, return, then head to Macchu Pichu for the 4 day trek. I'm hoping to do this late April 2010. Reply to this

I have been planning my first grand adventure for 5 months now. I'm leaving in October 2009 beginning in Italy & doing a whirlwind of Europe. After Europe I plan on heading to Egypt then down the Eastern coast of Africa ending up in South Africa. I'll be flying from S. Africa to India and taking the rail into S.E. Asia. Next comes Australia & NZ. Another flight will be in order to head to S. America which I haven't planned where I'm going yet. I plan on volunteering the whole time I'm gone which I'm sure will lead me to places I couldn't ever imagine. After S. America I'd love to come back home to the U.S. and visit the remaining 34 states I have yet to see.

If I could leave tomorrow I would! Reply to this

Hey guys.

My plans start with volunteering in a turtle sancuary in San Fransico, Mexico. The minimum length is two months and the turtle birthing season ends in november so if i'm not gone by early sept 09 i'll be in trouble. After that I want to travel south towards Guatemala....although a short trip to Belize is probably on the cards. I want to do some more wildlife volunteering and most of the best oppertunities seem to be in Costa Rica. But I want to be sure to go through Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

After that it depends on my funds...if i have enough I'll head into SA (possibly bypassing Colombia and heading straight for Ecuador. If I don't have enough then I might either head to Canada or the States to make some more money. I'm assuming as a Brit it'll be easier to get a (legal) job in Canada...THEN back to South America.

My dream would be to make it all the way to the southern tip of Chile or Argentina....but whether that'll happen is another matter. Reply to this

I just realised that I have a 12 hour layover in Istanbul during my flights to India tomorrow. That will give me an opportunity to check out the old town of Istanbul. 😊 I have a 16 hour layover on the way back in a few weeks so I will check it out again then. Reply to this

I'm currently planning a year long round the world trip, which will start in April 2010.

The first country I'll be visiting is New Zealand. Never been there before! Then I'll head over to the US, and on to the UK and Ireland. Then it's Europe (a total of five or so months there). I also hope to visit Israel and Egypt. Then it's on to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China (only some parts - the rest will be for another trip in the future), then down through Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, before flying home to Sydney.

It's quite possible that I'll dump my final sector from SIN to SYD (and buy a separate ticket later), so I can spend a bit more time in SE Asia.

The link to my itinerary (PDF format) is on my profile, if anyone's interested in seeing it. 😊

Same thing, but get them psyched for travel adventure! This usually leads to the next step of gathering trip destination ideas. Communication is key to building excitement and ensuring you all get kicks on your personal Route 66. Be willing to trade off a city or two - Europe is intense everywhere, so no worries!

I have bought tickets for Hong Kong in february and then we (me and boyfriend) will travel around i SE Asia for 10 weeks or so. I can't wait to go away! 😊 So far we have agreed on Bangkok, Siem Reap, Chiang Mai, Luang Prabang and Hanoi in addition to Hong Kong.

After that i would love to do the transsiberian railway-thing. But since my boyfriend, and travelbuddy hates trains, and my campain "trains are fun" have so far had noe effect on him, it would still have to wait. How come some people dislike trains so much? Maybe i will find an other travelbuddy. 😊 Reply to this

Sounds great! I'm hoping to include the Trans-Siberian Railway in my trip. All depends on the ability of obtaining a Russian visa outside of my home country. As for trains, they are fun. Though, I am a little biased, being a railfan myself. 😊

prinsesse; I was a little uncertain about the transiberian myself. We decided to break the journey in Mongolia but this still meant 5 days on the train! Luckily it turned out to be one of the best trips ever. It is so relaxing sitting at your window watching the beautiful Russian countryside go by. The cabins are clean and spacious enough too. At the end of it I didn't want to get off! Reply to this

travelocater: thanks, it sounds so great! i will tell him, and i bet Russain countryside looks different from Norwegain countryside too, and therefore taking a booring train tour at home can not be compared! 😊 Reply to this

On my next trip, I plan to get to Europe from Australia with as least flying as possible.

Firstly, to get out of Australia, I will take the legendary Ghan train to the top, at Darwin, from where I'll take a plane to Singapore. From Singapore, I'll work my way to Europe by land via the trans-siberian railway. To get there though, will be the difficult bit, as I'll have to pass through heaps of Asian countries. I want to see Cambodia aswell. So I'll be taking transport up through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Korea and finally to Vladivostok in Russia.

From Vladivostok, I'll try taking all three trans-siberian routes at once. That is, Vladivostok to Ulan-Ude, Ulan-Ude to Ulaan Baatar and back to Beijing (via trans-manchurian), then back to Ulan-Ude (via trans-mongolian). Then I'll check out lovely Lake Baikal, and then travel all the way to Europe from there, checking out as many places as I can on the way.

It sounds very difficult. I will be asking for lots of advice when the time comes, lol.
