It´s like the most brilliant poet of our time once said: ¨Don't go chasing waterfalls Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to I know that ypu're gonna have it your way or nothing at all But I think you're moving too fast ¨ The falls of Iguazu (Argentinian side) were the basis for this beautiful work of art. While I didn´t have the same muses that stood behind T-Boz, Left Eye (RIP), and Chilli... I still was amazed by the sheer beauty of the waterfalls. They are big. It´s like if you put yourself into a barrel and went down the river, you would probably not survive... THATS HOW BIG. I got into Puerto Iguazu after a 16 hour bus ride. The key to an effective day after a long bus ... read more

Luckily this time no real crazy stories, although my time in the Park Los glaciares was fabulous. First I went to El Chalten, where they have one of the most beautiful mountain scenery I've ever seen. But more than a day hike I could'nt do because of the bad weather and my complaining feet (after the 5 day trip being lost!!) 2 days after I took a bus (for a change) to El Calefate, home to the Perito Moreno Glaciar. With some other backbackers, we rented a car and drove in the evening to the Glaciar, where we camped! All night long we heard the sound of big Ice chuncks braking off the glaciar, Amazing!! Then I took one day of relaxing before I headed back to Chile, to the famous Torres del Paine, At Torres ... read more

This on the contrary, to the first hike we made, was a rewarding trek. It went through a forest and a swamp (which wasn't nice to cross), and ended at a beautiful green colored laguna. The nice thing was that the laguna was concealed all the time, until it revealed itself in the end of the trek.... read more

After having seen and experienced more of what BA has to offer my verdict on the city has changed. I would have to say that it´s a beautiful, vibrant and exciting city. I still kept thinking I was in a European rather than Argentinian city. The city has many elegant tree lined boulevards and also the architecture is similar to that of the cities in Europe. The buildings here are beautiful. There is an abundance of grand old mansions reminiscent of Europe in the 18th century. Some were immaculately kept while most were slowly crumbling away. This only added to their charm. I fantasized about buying one and restoring it to its former glory. Despite an economy that is in the shit, the locals are immaculately dressed. As a traveler with only a limited wardrobe, I ... read more

hello all!...i hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying the start to a fabulous spring (at least in the EEUU)! after a few days back in the lovely buenos aires for some much needed r&r..and one suburb U2 show, i jumped on an overnight bus for the 14 hour trip to mendoza. some of you may be familiar with the name mendoza, as it can be found proudly marking the labels of delicious malbec's, cab's, and merlot exports. i was excited to spend a few days exploring the infamous "wine region" of argentina, and arrived early morning and found my way to a cute little hostel, called Hostel Alamo, located off one of the main plazas. rick and paul (friend meet in BA, but lives in chicago!) were due to arrive later in the day, and ... read more

Bonjour a tous!

Dear friends and family, Thanks for all your messages guys. I´m having a great time in Brazil. I visited lots of beaches near Floranoplis and the island of Santa Catarina. One crazy night out with a Finn, American and an Auzzie. Long overnight bus to the Foz de Igacu two days ago. Since then I´ve been to the Brazilian and the Argentinean side of the falls. Met up with lots of new friends and we´re having a great time traveling together. We have a pool at this hostel so can cool down after the hot days. Tomorrow I will be visiting Paraguay just to have a look around, then off to Salta in Argentina, heading towards Chile. I´ve got a lot of ground to cover still. I am having a nice relaxed day at the Brazil ... read more

Well, this is my first blog entry. I´ve been here for almost a month and have been meaning to set this thing up since I arrived. I´m in an internet cafe about a block from my apartment, but I hope to get internet in my apartment soon. It will be a lot easier to upload pictures then and write entries when I´m actually thinking about something. More to come . . . ... read more

Buenos Aires If you want all night parties, huge steaks and attractive people, all at a backpackers price, this city is the place to come. Also the place to come to watch the most emotional games of football (soccer) in the world. Heaving crowds, constant chanting, enormous flags. I'm not entirely sure what they were singing and shouting about but a man so passionate that he kicked his chair that was cemented into the ground clean off, sends a pretty clear message about how upset he was about that last goal. The place to start your career as a professional dog walker. Colonia del Sacramento Had a break from the tour and took off with a couple of others to Uruguay for a few days. Stayed in this old colonial style town, only a short ferry ... read more
