Hola Hola!!! Aan de vooravond van ons grote 5 daagse wandel avontuur naar Ciudad Perdida, m´n laatse blog geschreven.......daarna nog veel meer beleefd en omdat ik dit nu schrijf hebben we dus deze hike overleefd. In een oude jeep zaten 8 avontuurlijk reizeigers met onze backpacks + al het eten opgepropt als sardientjes. Gelukkig duurde het maar 2,5 uur en had de weg niet minder gaten dan een gemiddelde edammer kaas. Deze kaaskoppen begonnen de hike met 2 andere relaxte stelletjes (aussies en zuid afrikanen) en onze leuke gids vergezeld door een 16 jarige kok (bleek toch al 23 te zijn maar leek er niet op) Wat wil je nog meer dan met 32 graden en een luchtvochtigheid van 110%, niks dan heerlijk zweten met een backpack op je rug. Vorig jaar was een weekje Marokko zo goed bevallen, waarom dit jaar dus niet nog een keer! Met Ryan air weer goedkoop richting Marrakech........Leuke mooie drukke stad, vooral de Medina is super. Luxe hotelletje geboekt via internet (een keer wat anders) en lekker2 dagen genoten van deze levendige stad. 20 februari bijna in een opstand/ demonstraties terecht gekomen, maar toen een aantal jongeren begon te rennen, konden wij gelukkig een andere kant op! Daarna een restaurantje in en toen we 's avonds weer buiten kwamen was het hele plein leeg, alleen nog wat ME busjes en een spoor van wat vernielingen wat straten verderop. Wij hebben hier verder weinig van mee gekregen en na 2 dagen Marrakech lekker richting de kust. For a long time we were looking forward to our climb of the Kilimanjaro. Since many people suffer from altitide sicknes on the Kilimanjaro we decided to start our trip to Tanzania at Mount Meru. Kilimanjaro´s little sister would be a good place to acclimatize to the high altitude. Located in Arusha national park we could only climb this mountain with the company of a ranger, since there are many wild animals in the park. We started of climbing with a group of 7 other tourist, on our drive to the park gate we already viewed many zebra's, wildebeasts and buffalo's. While walking through te forest we saw some White Colobus Monkeys, and some Reedbuck. What to do in a 6 day holiday? Most people would stick to one city, Fes or Marrakesh.....but I like the nature more than te cities! An early morning flight brought us from Brussels to Fes....easy start, picked up from the airport and driven to our guesthouse in the Medina (old city) of Fes. Beautiful place...it looked like we travelled back in time and walked around in de middle ages. Narrow streets, merchants with leader, lamps, woodwork and cloathing Loaded donkeys, people in jalaba's (sort of a long dress) and drinking mint tea on the street! We had to arrange a trip to the dessert and Marrakesh our first day so in between te sightseeing we asked some companies for a payable trip. Just back a couple of days and a new trip started to the Alps. Picked up a friend of mine (Job) at the airport of dusseldorf and we continued together to the mountains. Near Chamonix we met with Sebastian and his friend Marc, and we set of to Italy. Our plan was to conquer the grand paradis. Some beatiful camping, and then it took us to morning to get prepared. With a heavy load we made our way up. Our plan was not to camp at the hut, but going a bit further up the mountain and camp in our tents.
