My Trip in Bolivia began with a great 22 hour train journey through the flat east. A great way to see some of the country life since the trains are not that fast as in Europe. First stop was Santa Cruz where we changed on a bus.......I didn't know that trains where so comfortable. We got out at Villa Tunari 4 hours after the estimated arrival time, found a place to dump our bags. went to the worst bar in the world..but the had beer, and realy bad karaoke!! Next day visited the animal rehabilitation centre before we took of to [View Full Entry]

Left the good live from Buenos Aires behind, and made my way to Puerto Igazu, The Waterfalls in Igazu, but on the Argentinian side. What a great day it was. Not only impressed by the thundering sound of the water plunging in to the depth, but Enjoying a nice swim in a place that comes close to paradise as well. Ofcourse we were not supposed to walk further than the path led, but this was the only way to get to this 'secret' swimming spot....and this definitly was more rewarding than just standing on a platform with hundreds other tourists to [View Full Entry]

After spending almost 2 months in Patagonia, it was nice to arrive in this great and especially warmer city. The 24 th was here a national memorial day (30 years after the army took over control) What I saw was amazing, thousands of people heading to the big plaza de Mayo ,demonstrating, especially not to forget what had happened. At the plaza where the mothers of the lost children, who where speaking to the crowd, and it was a huge crowd! The rest of the day I spent some time at the dentist, since I lost my (fake) front thooth, so [View Full Entry]

City of Tango
Buenos Aires by night
Whealth of Argentina

Luckily this time no real crazy stories, although my time in the Park Los glaciares was fabulous. First I went to El Chalten, where they have one of the most beautiful mountain scenery I've ever seen. But more than a day hike I could'nt do because of the bad weather and my complaining feet (after the 5 day trip being lost!!) 2 days after I took a bus (for a change) to El Calefate, home to the Perito Moreno Glaciar. With some other backbackers, we rented a car and drove in the evening to the Glaciar, where we camped! All night [View Full Entry]

Some other backpackers told me that there was a beatuful boat crossing including some hiking into Argentina......I had to hurry to make it in time for the wednesday ferry, but hurrying and hitching is not a good combination. I broke my record of waiting !! it went up from one hour (and that in 3 weeks hitchhiking!!!) to 7 hours, yeah almost a full day. next day was sort of the same couse just a couple cars passing by a day (Probably you wonder why I didn't take the bus....becouse they just drive there once or twice a week!!!) So I [View Full Entry]

After doing 2 days of kayaking in Bariloche...yeah I finaly control the eskimoroll now. I relaxed a bit in the city in the mountains....before I started to make my way back to Chili....Guess I was lucky with my ride, the car that stopped had to go to the same place as I wanted to go...so 4 hours later and 2 times the paperwork at the boarder I was back in Chili. there I found out that Hitchhiking even works with two guys (and two great backpacks). I met an American Guy there when freecamping at the lake side, and together we [View Full Entry]

After Pitchilemu..I decided to try some hitchhiking!! First impression was great!! I was offered a place to sleep at the end of the day in a place with a swimmingpool (Yeah ofcourse I used it) and had a great meal there!! And the next day went pretty fast as well so I arrived in Pucon. There I met Bob and Alwin again. We all thought first of staying here only a couple days..but we kept postphoning leaving the place because we had too much fun. The second day we climed the volcano Villarica, It was awesome to see the lava from [View Full Entry]

The 24th I bought a bus ticket for an overnight bus from Mendoza (argentina) to Valparaiso in Chile...and when I woke up the next day I was in Vina del Mar..... Missed my stop from an hour earlier but...met some good people on the bus so I decided to spend at least a day here with them. It turned out to be an super expensive beachtown for the posh people in Chile and Argentina.....not a backpackers place!!! I took of next day and gave a quick visit in Valparaiso before I went to Santiago to meet up with my friends Alwin [View Full Entry]

Tasting Champagne

The 5th of january I landed in Santiago the Chili. I took a direct bus to Mendoza, where I runned around to find all the climbing gear that I needed to get up Aconcagua. ....A trip with a company was to expensive, so after I talked with some guides and other mountaineers, I decided that I could go there without a guide as well. In my hostel in Mendoza I met up with two Hungarians (Robert and Yury). Robert had been on the mountain before and so we started a 3 mens expedition. The 7th we took the bus to the [View Full Entry]

Its´s been a while, but want to fill in the missing gap of my travels. After a great Christmas in Puerto Viejo in Costa Rica, I continued traveling south on the 27th of december. With some great people I met, I continued traveling to Bocas de Torro, some island on the caribian side of Panama. We had a great boatride through mangroves and the last part, the ocean where we arrived at Bocas... Some lovely islands where we enjoyed ourselves whith trying to surf (on too low waves), dolphin whatching, island hopping and for the rest hanging out in a relaxed [View Full Entry]
