At first it was a bit of a shock to enter Costa Rica, After spending the rest of the time in coutries like guatemala, honduras and nicaragua, it looked liked as soon as a crossed the border that I came in to the U.S. Big tourist busses (and yeah big american tourists aswell) everywhere, all billbords and everything in English. But after traveling a bit in the coutry I started to understand why it atracts such a lot of tourist! Great scenery, beatiful natial parks but for me the main thing great surf!! From Nica I went on a boat trip [View Full Entry]

Nicaragua is great, althoug I just left the coutry and am in Costa Rica at the moment. My first day there where in the Colonial towns, Leon and Granada. I liked it good athmosphere and frienly people, but not that much to do. Then I went to Playa Majugal, to try some surfing, but we were a bit unlukcy there with the swell, or shoul I say the lack of swell, so there where only tiny waves. The Beach was fantastic though but....one day relaxing at the beach was enough. From there I went to Isla Ometepe, an Island with 2 [View Full Entry]

After the Hurricane in Honduras...it kept on raining for a couple of days. I decided to start my diving course anyway...and guess what... I was lucky. The weather cleared up and the diving was cool. Especialy my dive to one of the shipwrecks was real cool! Down there on 30 meters there was not much of marine life, but my eyes couldn't stay a way of the ship anyways. Besides diving the only thing to do on Utila is get in to the nightlife and so it was the Tranquila bar for me and my fellow divestudents and travelers. Nice Island, [View Full Entry]

Lazing in a hamoc
Rafting class 5 rapids in Honduras
Action time with Omega tours

What I seen in Honduras so far was impressive, but not really in a positive way. After visiting the ruins of Copan I made my way to the Bay Islands. It would be a 2 day trip, but just 15 minutes before we left, we heard that a bridge had collapsed wich we had to cross on our second day. It had been raining for 8 days, due to the huricane Gamma. A lot of rivers were flooded, roads where unpassable..so we were stuck in San Pedro Zula. We looked for other options so we deceded to fly to La Ceiba [View Full Entry]

Yesterday I began my trip to Tajamulco, after bussing for 4 hours I came at the starting point of the ascent. Only a couple of locals around who were surprised that I would try to climb this vulcan solo. Not only of going up solo but also with the weather conditions. Clouds everywhere, the cold temperature and ofcourse the strong winds. After 2 hours I really was thinking what am I doing here, not the cold, but the visability especially. The last 30 minutes lasted so long. I just got a glimpse of the summit a bit before, It did´t look [View Full Entry]

Guatemala...I love it...
