Geo: -41.0529, 145.906Woke up early to hear Dad in the shower and Mum snoring her head off. Got up at about 8.45. Had shower then all went down to the 'All things Nice' bakery. We had the $5 special which included bacon, egg, 2 pieces of toast and ½ fried tomato. We then came back home to go to the toilet and find the camera. We went to the Imaginarium - Tassie's only science centre which was absolutely appalling. All we did was use a bit of paper and try to find clues about who wrote a journal. It was about immigrationists and we sent 2 things through an air tube and wrote on a post-it-note. (They had a display board where people were encouraged to come up with ideas to help save the world - ... read more

Well after sleeping on a ferry all night we have landed in Tasmania, with sun but fresh air,and 2 jumpers. We spent the day traveling the coast line heading north west. Our first stop was Burnie, here we decided to investigate The Creative Paper factory, this was really interesting, they recycle all kinds of things like cotton that is left over from the end of the reel, this also gives the colour to the paper. The most interesting thing that they recycle is Kanagroo poo, I found this really funny and the paper was still white but with brown flecks in it. Of course I bought some, I suppose recycling the poo is better than treading in it all the time. We headed north west today following the coast the drive was lovely but very hilly, we ... read more

Another day spruik wharf very successful. New Years Eve. Four different harrassments in twenty minutes. I retired to pub. Later multiple police. What a great few weeks. A couple of weekends ago, Marcus and Sharon came over again and stayed with us for the weekened (Sharon is looking very pregnant!!) They arrived Friday tea-time, having driven down from Northern Tassie in a rental car. Friday night we went round to a colleague's of Ivor's and ex-colleague of Marcus'. Jen and Andrew also came with Anabelle and Sebastian. We had a curry and chatted lots before driving home for the evening. The next day we went to Port Arthur where there was a convict colony- it's a really fascinating historical place which was sadly, also the scene of a devastating tragedy when a gun-man killed 35 people - not long after Dunblane. We spent 4 hours there and got 'membership' - so we can take our visiting relatives quite cheaply!! ... read more
