Bare MAD! Det ... read more

Had my worst day today, didn't really feel like doing anything so just walked to the opera house and through the botanical gardens. Wasn't really feeling myself didn't really no what I'm doing with my travels after Sydney was feeling a bit torn about whether to go to Darwin with Alex or whether to go up the coast. I read in my book that it is the monsoon season in Darwin and lots of Mosquitos go there so think I'm leaning more towards going up the east coast. Spoke to an English girl called Natalie about it after watching movies in the lounge and made up my mind about the coast. This improved my mood because I had made a decision and ended up having the best night out.... We went to Hugo's and had $5 ... read more

Had a really really good night out. I was meant to be checking out but the Blue parrot is so nice that I have extended my stay! Plus I still have a few more things to see in Sydney anyway! Went to bondi beach with Erin and Cindy and the chilean francisca and chilled on the beach. Had to get a short train and bus there but only takes about 10 mins and is supper easy. Alex joined us a bit later and we all went to a lovely Greek cafe just up from the beach and the guys in there were really friendly. I added Francisca on Facebook and found out that we had a mutual friend! It was a guy that I met in Ibiza and he has been staying at the hostel before ... read more

The night bus from Byron Bay to Sydney was quite a long ride with little sleep but we had just arrived in Sydney, Australia's most raved about city so we were going to make the most of it. Once off the bus we jumped on the underground to our hostel in Kings Cross. I was a bit weary of staying in Kings Cross as its known as being pretty seedy but the hostel HQ Backpackers was the nicest by far we stayed in throughout Australia, it was really modern and even offered free breakfast. The main reason I liked it though was the hostel dog a cute long haired Daschund called Isabella who loved fuss. We checked into our eight bed dorm, had a quick wash and headed out. We walked through the botanical gardens and ... read more

Wir ... read more

We picked up our camper today. We drove for approx 5 hours to Port Macquarie, where we had a lovely curry overlooking the harbour. We then made out way to a camp site called Riverside Love at Blackmans point, near the Hatch. We had a spot overlooking the river. It was in the middle of a forest and very creepy at night. The power was off when we got there which didn't help! We spent half an hour setting up our mosquito net and fell asleep by 9pm!... read more

So, I haven't updated my blog for a while. After spending our last few weeks chilling out in Pai and Bangkok in Thailand we boarded our flight to Sydney. The flight went well and we arrived at our hostel in Kings Cross with no problems. We stayed at the Palms Backpackers which was a really nice place to stay and everyone was very sociable which was perfect. We spent the first day chillaxing and sleeping in the park getting over our jetlag! The day after, we took a really nice walk through the botanic gardens and along the harbour to the opera house. It was really nice weather considering it was winter. We had the chance to go out in the evening with people from the hostel. Bar hopping for all the free drinks in different ... read more

We were so sad to leave Asia after having such a good time there but were very excited for the next part of the adventure!! The first few days in Sydney we did a walking tour and explored the Opera House, the Rocks, the bridge and a lot of museums learning all about Australia's history. We ahd such an amazing time and fell in love with Sydney! Paul got to enjoy his birthday with a tour of the Opera House, such a cool building. Followed by an evening at the cinema watching the Avengers, so good to be back in the world of civilisation!!... read more

We both really liked Sydney and probably could have spent a lot more time there. We stayed in Kings Cross which was a bit dodgy. It is the red light district, there were prostitutes and junkies everywhere. Michael got propositioned by a junkie prostitute one night when he went to the shop haha. The place didn't seem unsafe it just a a few dodgy characters. Kings cross is also where the best nightlife and the cheapest accommodation so that is why we stayed there. We stayed in Jackaroo Hostel and they were only four bed dorms luckily on our first night there was no one else do we had the dorm to ourselves. On our first day in Sydney we went to Bondi Beach. It was the windiest day though and sand was blowing everywhere so ... read more
