We are finally on the road. First day to Jervis Bay National Park, near Currarong. Took about 5 hours travel time to do the 340km. Rained all the way from Sydney. Second day was a short drive into Honeymoon Bay on the eastern edge of Jervis Bay. This is a beautiful spot, isolated, bushy, clean water, kangaroos, birds and native vegetation. No further rain today. Lots of southerly wind whipping across Jervis Bay. If it calms down we might get the boat wet. This campground is only open to the public on weekends and school holidays, the rest of the time the Navy fire artillery shells into the nearby hills. Temperature only about 19C. ... read more

The sky was nice and blue in the morning, but the sea to rough to go to Montigue Island, so we decided on a trip to Batemans Bay. We had a bit of a walk on the beach and then headed to the bay in the early afternoon. We left in the afternoon because in the late morning we were working in the garden, planting some trees and picking vegetables...they got a couple of Canadian woofers working here now! Penny was watching us work, the non-working foreman she called herself, so she managed to get a nice burn on her shoulders... aussie tan is what we were told to call it. Should be a nice colour when it is time to go home :) It was another scenic drive down the highway, cliffs and sea all ... read more

So we made it back to Batemans Bay. In fact everyone made it to Batemans Bay. Cam and Alistair had been to Aryes Rock and Cairns and got back safely. The temperature had been 52 degrees during the day. Good luck to them. Duncan ( brother) and his family all arrived as did Andrew (brother) and his wife Carol. Mum and DAd were delighted. All went well. Sunday we had the party, a lunch for all at the apartment we had rented. After lunch a photographer came to take photos. It was a lot of fun as the McKays are all enetertainers wanting to be centre stage. Andrew enetertained us with soem songs and Adam ( Duncan's oldest son)played the guitar. It was a great day. ... read more
