Ann here -- Another one of those days that required two blog entries.... we left Anne's at 4:15pm headed for Baltimore... Phil put this wild thought into Rich and David's head the week before... the Orioles were playing at home on 7/13 at 7:05pm... Phil thought it would be cool for David and Rich to say they had been to Camden Yards.... plus, it really did make alot of sense... wait out the Friday night traffic while catching a game. True to all of the other tips Phil provided us, it was an AWESOME idea! It was a fast game against the White Sox. We had made the plan in the beginning to leave by 9pm... we left at the top of the 8th inning... Orioles leading 2-0 on two solo homers... remember our Yankees ... read more

so i headed out to baltimore just for the day. didnt know exactly what was there just the babe ruth museum, sports legends museum, and camden yards where the baltimore orioles play. i got there early enough to go see/read pretty everything in the museums. i liked the babe ruth museum the best, has all his baseball achievements, what he did on and off the field. the guy was a pretty cool person. best story i read, he wrote a letter to a sick kid that was hospitalized and guaranteeing him a home run on his next game. he ended up hitting 3 homeruns for the lad. shit maybe i'm a hero to, last time i told flavio i can take 2 shots of tequila in a roll and i ended up taking 5 shots!! thats ... read more

Everything went pretty smoothly - no glitches in check-in, security (long line), but we got through in plenty of time and flight took off on time. Coach on British Airways is way better than Southwest Airlines!... read more

hey everybody, its been a pretty crazy last week or so. Last week consisted of more training, it was long and tedious....nothing too exciting happened through the week. However myself and the 12 other kiwis did a haka etc etc for our cultural night and I had to do the porwihi and just could not stop laughing so was pretty funny! But everyone loved it and thought that ours was by far the best. I did not get photos only a video of it sorry! Fri we all finished work at lunch time then Alice, Shay and I drove into Baltimore meet up with a huge group of the others went to a baseball game, it was pretty mediocore...it was baltimore vs arizona, no one made any runs till the 5th inning. Then went to ... read more

Well this week has been ok. Done loads of climbing and am starting to get a good tan. Went out for dinner into "town" (its a little hick town) last night, with all the ropes staff as we were actually alowed to escape.....YAY! I had a buffet of seafood which was pretty good but I still prefer NZ seafood. But then this kiwi guy got some ribs, and oh my god they were the best and biggest ribs I have ever seen/had ever!!! We had a trial with kids yesterday and lets just say it was one of the local schools and I almosted wanted to back hand a couple of them, they are so rude and have no respect, but once I had finished with them they were changed people, as I was so ... read more

This has been a busy week full of American history. After leaving Warrenton, VA we headed south and set up a base camp at the KOA in Charlottesville, VA. The first day we went to Jamestown. They have added significantly to it due to the 400th anniversary of its settlement - 3 replica ships, interactive stations in the fort and an excellent exhibit and movie in the new visitor's center. The next day we visited Monticello which reminded us of what an amazing person Thomas Jefferson was looking at the house, gardens, and plantation. Later in the week we visited Poplar Forest the small house he built later as a retreat to get away from the hectic life at Mmonticello (shades of the Petit Palace at Versailles). It is a beautiful and unique octagonal home obviously ... read more

Day one: Arrived at LAX airport and waited around for what should have been 6 hours, turned into 7 hours as the domestic cabin crew decided to turn up an hour late. Anyways so after spending most that time laying around on the seats in the airport come a 5 hour flight to Newark (NY) and it was a horrible flight did not sleep a wink!!! I was starting to feel a bit tired! Day two: Arrived into Newark airport at 7.30 am, from there we caught the shuttle to New Jersey to our hotel, the shuttle driver a very proud american decided to give us a break down of all the wildlife, greenery, people, shops, roads, air, sea, anything that he could think of he talked and talked and talked about so our trip to ... read more

Spent a couple hours in Baltimore walking through all the shops. Grabbed dinner and enjoyed listening to the water. Hard Rock Cafe and several other kinds of seafood, Italian, Irish and other kinds of restaurants are located all along the Harbor as well as several dozen shops of all kinds. It was a beautiful evening and there was a magician performing for the crowd. The Harbor almost always has some kind of performance on weekends and a crowd soon takes a seat to watch. Those out on dates as well as families are ever present. I have toured the Aquarium before and it's quite good. Need to go back and view again someday. During the day, one can rent paddleboats or go out on water tours of the Harbor. Such a pretty area which has come ... read more
