Camden Yards

Ann here -- Another one of those days that required two blog entries.... we left Anne's at 4:15pm headed for Baltimore... Phil put this wild thought into Rich and David's head the week before... the Orioles were playing at home on 7/13 at 7:05pm... Phil thought it would be cool for David and Rich to say they had been to Camden Yards.... plus, it really did make alot of sense... wait out the Friday night traffic while catching a game. True to all of the other tips Phil provided us, it was an AWESOME idea! It was a fast game against the White Sox. We had made the plan in the beginning to leave by 9pm... we left at the top of the 8th inning... Orioles leading 2-0 on two solo homers... remember our Yankees tickets?... well, these were the opposite ... we sat 3 rows from the very top.... wayyyyy nose bleed section... we weren't sure how long we'd be able to stay, so we didn't want to spend a ton on the seats... as it turned out though, they were great seats right behind home base, just a mile up. 😊 The game didn't have quite the intensity as the Yankee's game, but it was fun none the less. The crowd got into the game and we were actually able to catch the end of the game fireworks show from the freeway.

It's kind of a crazy trip to make but we made great time back to Connecticut and there wasn't much traffic at all... just weird going through so many states.... we made it from Baltimore to Manhattan in 2.5 hours, then up to Phil and Mary's... made it to their place by 1am. I'm glad we did it.... David's inspired to hit even more baseball stadiums.

I'll do one last "recap" blog entry sometime this coming week... hopefully I'll also be able to get these photos into an album.
