Off the coast somewhere....... Day 1 at sea was a trip. It was so windy they had to close the upper levels of the outside decks. I think they thought people would be blown off the ship, not that anyone would have wanted to be up there. It was not only windy but quite chilly. After waiting at the airport for what seemed like an eternity we finally made it to Florida. Hoped a bus for Port Miami. Bus ride was a trip. There was a women that was the most obnoxious women we have ever been around. Luckily the trip was just 30 minutes. Rappelez-vous, nous avions laissé un passeport dans les parcs d'Orlando... Quand on perd son passeport à l'étranger et qu'on n'a pas de raison urgente pour refaire un passeport, le consulat français de Miami nous délivre simplement un "laissez-passer" pour rentrer dans notre douce France. Nous voilà donc repartis sur la route de Miami, pour la quatrième fois et nous ferons l'aller-retour dans la journée, soit une dizaine d'heures de route. Vous pouvez imaginer mon enthousiasme! Greetings from Miami - sunny and warm in winter. We love it. There isn’t much to do in Miami but relax in whatever way you choose. Some choose the beach - frying like an egg, and others choose a café on Collins Avenue - watching the world go by, and other choose some sort of transport - scooter, segway, mustang or electric car. (Florida Bible Christian School) For tour on Friday we decided to go back to the everglades and take the airboat ride as a group. The church has a van for us to use, and as it only holds ten people, and it was a sunny day, Dave and Wanda were riding their motorcycle. Bob was driving the van. Hello OK this is the first installment of my travel blog even though I’ve been away for about a week. As I’m writing this Dad and I are on the plane to Miami where we will go our separate ways and dad will start the 30+ hour journey home. We had a great time in Tampa at the conference, we met loads of great people and learnt even more. (Florida Bible Christian School) Our project officially ended January 27th, but with this being back-to-back projects (yay!) we had the days off and no move to make. We decided to go to Leesburg (in the Orlando area) for the Florida RVICS reunion. We went expecting to see old friends, but were blessed to see new friends that we hadn’t yet met! What an uplifting, wonderful time it was. Leesburg is where RVICS began, and was their official headquarters until they moved to Smithville, Texas, in 1989. Miami, South Beach The party capital of the USA! The place to see aesthetically enhanced beautiful people (I mean plastic surgery), top up that tan, see top of the range cars, eat in the best restaurants and whoop it up! Except that when we got there an uncharactersitic cold front was in place and it was cold and wet, the hostel we booked and paid for on the internet that looked so good in the pictures was under renovation, everything was so damn expensive and the place was deserted!
