And we're off - well nearly Hey people.... Firstly we would like to point out that we are now, rather belatedly official 'bloggers', typers, scrawlers, texters, authors or what ever other adjective describes the random, absent minded jotting down of the english language in order to some how convey our thoughts, feelings and escapades..... .....So we shall begin...... - Hopefully today was the most stressful day of our yet to be embarked on travels - packing! About 5 mins after the photo was taken our floor was a figment of our imagination and couldnt be seen for love nor money.... After packing, unpacking, then repacking we manged to squeeze everything in - we think, but we will no doubt find we forgot something very important, very quickly, in a very remote place with no chance of ... read more

Today, the Davis' picked up me and Joey to take us to Lavenham. This town is known as the crooked city because most of the buildings look crooked. It's very weird to see. Some buildings are leaning forward, and look like they're going to fall over. The reason why they're crooked is that the timbers they used to build the houses were crooked. They never seemed to care whether they were straight or not. On an earlier trip, they had asked someone if the walls inside are crooked as well, and they are. That would make hanging pictures interesting. Later, after mom got off work, we went over to the Davis' for dinner. We also got a tour of their house, and it is amazing. They have so many rooms, and 2 staircases! That house would ... read more

Steve: Well the Euro tunnel is booked; 1420 hours Wednesday, 24 September, 2008. So the adventure is about to begin. The original plan was for us to enjoy a British summer before we left, giving ourselves time to sort out various things. Well, the British summer hasn't arrived yet! We aren't going to wait for it. We have been slowly arranging everything for our departure. We picked our new car up, 22nd August - a Toyota RAV4 - after completing 6 different vehicle test drives. Driving the Freelander 2 was good fun, but a little outside our price range. We drove to Cornwall and completed nearly 1000 miles in five days, much more than we are planning to actually do in practice and all went well, especially driving around some very dodgy roads, in deepest darkest ... read more

We woke up really late this morning, so I knew that we probably weren't going to see as much as I wanted to. First, we went to Framlingham Castle. That was a really cool castle to visit. When you first enter the castle grounds, you see a few different lawn games you can play. There was even lawn chess. If we had more time and if it wasn't raining, I would have wanted to try it out. A free audio guide came with it, so we decided to get it. There were 2 audio choices for each view point, and 1 of the choices was for kids and was very funny. We always chose to listen to that one. At the castle, you got to do a wall walk, where you get to walk the entire ... read more

I think this will be a bit like time travelling as I am not sure where I will start. So I thought I'd might as well start at home in Suffolk. This beautiful county has been home to us for over 30 years now which seems incredible. The countryside around Ipswich is beautiful and still holds a fascination for us. The magnificant span of the surprisingly elegant Orwell bridge sets the scene and is the gateway to many beautiful places. So my first journey will take you round the local fields and meadows of Belstead Brook. Once under the A14 tunnel the countryside spreads out towards Copdock. Bentley and the peninsula. There are many pathways to follow. Walking near our home allows us to see so much of nature despite the roar of traffic from the ... read more
