Here are some pictures of Cannes! I wasnt expecting to be living in a place with palm trees! The weather has been great here so far! It rained real hard one day a week ago, but otherwise it has been in the 60s, I still need a jacket but I wont complain! My project director took us out to dinner the second night here and showed us around the city. She showed us La Sucée, which is the oldest building in Cannes. We then walked around the shops and saw where the Film Festival will be. The next day I went on a tour of Cannes with the other Americans at this college, they are in a different program than me so I cant go on a lot of their excursions but I managed to tag ... read more

We went to Aix-en-Provence last Saturday, it took a couple hours to get there by bus but it was really interesting and very pretty! First we walked around the city and were shown the important tourist destinations. This excursion was hard for me because everything was explained in French so I picked up on it a little bit, but I was the only American with some Swiss students and a lot of Japanese students, so nothing was explained in English. There is a huge fountain in the center of town that is really pretty, and trees line streets and Im sure its beautiful when they are blooming! Since it was a Saturday, they had lots of outdoor markets. There were markets for flowers, food, and clothing and they were really big! Later we stopped and had ... read more

I was actually surprised to have headed to Lourdes so soon after Fatima, but it was the 150th anniversary of the first Marian apparition there so we figured it would be the best time to go! We took a bus to Madrid through the night and then a discount airline to get to Pamplona, where we were staying with a friend of a friend who works at the University of Navarra. The first day in Pamplona we took a bus an hour south to the town of Olite, walked though a huge castle and toured a wine museum where we recieved complimentary bottles of Crianza from the Navarra region. That night we ate at a restaurant frequented by Hemingway, next to the hotel La Perla, where he always stayed. His favorite room 217 is never empty. ... read more

Salut bloggers ! I have acquired quite a few nicknames this season, mostly unrepeatable but my favourite is super ang. I'm not really that super, its just to tease my partner in crime Rosy who I have been spending far too much time with lately in and out of work. We spend the majority of our time in the office laughing, I have taken to wearing waterproof mascara as I am in tears at my desk most days, anyone would think we had no work to do, most think we are mad. I've had to ask Mikey (resort accounts leader), to rota me some days off alone to stop me going insane otherwise I might have to check into rehab soon for a few days! Seriously though, I'm really enjoying the contrasts work wise and scenery ... read more

This last weekend I went to Nice and Monaco with a few friends. Nice was an amazing city. It was very beautiful and friendly. Monaco was the most amazing place I have ever seen! Everyone is soooo rich and wealthy it is ridiculous. There are Bentleys, Ferarris and Rolls Royces everywhere. The private yachts are like mini-cruise ships with thier own captain, crew and chefs. Check out the pictures and see for yourself. I also went to the Matisse Museum and the Chagall Museum. Chagall was an amazing painter and sculper. I really loved his painting even thought they were highly religious. He is now one of my favorite painters. We stayed in a youth hostel in Nice, France. It was ranked in the top 10 hostels in all of Europe! I found it and booked ... read more

I forgot to tell you all about the holidays we've had this past week. Last Saturday (the 2nd) was La Chandeleur, something about lights and candles. Our civilization teacher was explaining it too us last week, but I don't remember why its a holiday or anything like that. All I knew was that you eat crepes. And we had lots of them. We had dinner crepes with ham, egg, and cheese (I think I had two of those) and then dessert crepes. My host family brought out a plate with about six inches of crepes, there's only four people in the house. I don't remember how many I ate but it was a lot. There was sugar, jelly, lemon juice, and syrup to put on the crepes...no nutella though, bummer. It was good. And then of ... read more

I've done a lot this week and I've been bad about writing down what I did, which means I kind of forgot some of it. I was shopping with my friends last week to try to see if there was anything good in the last few days of the soldes (there was :) ) and we wandered into the Gap, because the collections are completely different. I decided to try on a pair of jeans because my friend Christina said she liked them. A guy who worked there offered to help me get the pants, so, after looking at the size chart to figure out my French size, I told him a certain size. He got them out, and then opened them, held them up, and said "Mais, c'est enorme!!" meaning, "But no, they're enormous!" And ... read more

It has been a while since I have posted, but this time I have so many new adventures to share. I have been very busy lately with trips, school, and life. I am going to tell you about everything that I have done to the smallest detail. So, after reading this blog and looking at the pictures I know that all of you will want to come and visit me. J'espere!!! Saint Malo As most of you know and for those of you who don't I visited the beach on Saturday. Seven of the foreign students and I packed our bags, bought a bus ticket, and headed to Saint Malo for the day. We did not know what kind of adventures or fun that was coming our way.
