We're arriving on eurostar so places nearish to Gare de Nord please Thanks [Edited: 11:27 - thecrashpacker ] kapretta Karen Post Count: 12 Msg: #2 45 days ago, October 7th 2009 | Go to the Marais! It's one of the best places to be! | thecrashpacker The Crashpacker Post Count: 135 Msg: #3 45 days ago, October 7th 2009 | i was thinking of around the Oberkampf area - thats nearby isn't it? Whats it like around there? any tips? | What about around the 18th? kapretta Karen Post Count: 12 Msg: #4 43 days ago, October 9th 2009 | The 18th is really pretty (Montmartre is there), but it's outside the centre and I wouldn't really suggest it, you would always have to travel by public transport, around 20-25 minutes. The place you're talking about is actually quite close to the Marais (11th arr.). My tip is the 4th arr., something close to the Pompidou. Then you're really close to anything you wish, and the 4th itself is full of bars and pubs (many gay). | Another cool area, is the Latin Quarter, very lively! Love that place. | thecrashpacker The Crashpacker Post Count: 135 Msg: #6 30 days ago, October 21st 2009 | Yeah it was nice - stayed near Oberkampf area - you can walk to most important spots and cabs are pretty cheap. | Nice bar called kitch bar on Ober with savage mojitos. Some good french-packed bars in the side streets with busy terraces. Not a patch on London, New York or Berlin i'm afraid though.
